Actually you are incorrect as AT&T formally known as Cingular has way more coverage than Verizon. Stop dreaming into the 3G advertising that Verizon has more coverage when they don't. Only in 3G they do but when you want voice coverage everywhere and data AT&T has that and not Verizon.

Business world you need voice and data at the same time. Review emails your boss sends you while talking to him. Grow up and stop drinking cool aid and you might learn that.

Unless you live in the northeast. :)

I have been with ATT since it was originally part of ATT. Before, during, and after Cingular. I loved them. Fantastic service. Even with the Cingular BS. They couldn't get my bill right, but my phone worked everywhere I went.

Then I moved to the northeast. I now understand why people hate on ATT. My signal it terrible. I would love a solid edge signal so I could make calls. It's just not there where I am now.

A few posts earlier someone said "location, location, location". I couldn't agree more.

You can look at your email while talking...maybe you do your job right the first time eh? Just because you live in la-la land with AT&T coverage doesnt mean the rest of the US enjoys that. There is barely any AT&T here and it only gets worse around here. But once you have gotten drunk on the kool-aid, no convincing. Have fun on AT&T.

Was with verizon and left due to crappy coverage all over when I traveled. Sorry but even Texas unless you are near the highways Verizon doesn't have coverage in most of Texas in the rural areas while Att does. What's even more interesting whle I was with Sprint too I actually had better coverage than Verizon. With edge AT&T kills Verizon. Fact.

Funny, who said I was believing a picture? Seems you are all for it. The white on that picture means squat to me. In fact both mean squat. I dont have much 3G on Verizon where I live but AT&T has absolutely no signal here and about the surrounding 10 miles. My ex had AT&T and I was with her when she had no signal and I could do calls and everything else.

I have been to PA and never had signal issues. Been to NY too and DC again no issues.

Its like arguing with a rock... Im sorry Verizon did not have service for you in Texas, they do here in PA where AT&T doesnt. Ofcourse AT&T is going to have coverage in large cities. God its like a freakin Mac vs PC thing, who the hell cares? As long as you have service who cares?

I am in Texas; I still get crappy At&t coverage. Lol.

Cry all you want kid but Att has the best USA coverage period. They have the best rural area coverage over any cell provider in any state. VERIZON might be better in your area but not all over.

Its also like a Christianity vs Catholic thing, as long as your a good person who cares? ;)

So many people want others to tell them / agree with them they made the right choice and will defend their choice to the bitter end...

It's a lot better than Verizon and that is from experience. I travel all over Texas and unless you are on any major highway you won't get signals especially in little towns or cities while you will be covered with Att here. Reason why most Texas companies have Att for their cell providers.

Yes and you just represent AT&T all so well with your mature attitude.

Bye Bye At&t drop calls! :D
Do what's best for you in regards to coverage (I don't think anyone here really cares which carrier you have), but really do some investigation in regards to your plan for trying to keep unlimited Verizon data with the iPhone 5.

you just ignoring the topic of my situation. just stop it.

I posted this in another thread but it works here too.

I switched from an unlimited plan on AT&T to an unlimited 4G LTE plan on Verizon. I really wanted to lock in an unlimited 4G plan before they went away for good on July 7th so I sucked it up and switched from my iPhone 4 to a HTC Thunderbolt thinking I'd go back to the iPhone whenever a 4G model came out. After having this phone for a few days I've fallen in love with the 4.3" screen and everything Android has to offer. I really don't think I'll ever switch back to an iPhone, and this is coming from a huge Apple fanboy. I'm getting 4G speeds of about 21 Mbps which is amazingly fast, I can't even describe how fast web pages load.

The only things I miss from the iPhone are the Retina display (but the 4.3" screen almost makes up for it) and battery life. At first I was getting terrible battery life but I downloaded a 4G on/off app and now it does fine, I just turn on 4G whenever I'm downloading something then turn it off when I'm done. Android does pretty much everything else better.

I ordered it online from Walmart.com for $129 (I think it's $200 at the Verizon store) with free next day shipping and used their trade in program to get $322 from my old iPhone 4.

If you're dropping calls on AT&T try turning off 3G. The EDGE network is fully sufficient and most dropped calls originate from the AT&T network switching from EDGE to 3G.

There's a jailbreak tweak that disables 3G for calls because of this issue. Or switch to Verizon if you've got your heart set. AT&T is amazing where I live but once you get outside the urban scapes it's ridiculous.

Ok I'm fine with you debating about coverage in your areas or other specific areas but saying AT&T has the best rural coverage out of all the cell providers means you've really sipped the Kool aid and hopped down the bunny hole. Honestly...are you on crack or just trolling? I really don't hate AT&T (in fact I would prefer to have them for the most part) but I've traveled in cars/buses for athletics and AT&T is great but when you get rural allot of the AT&T iPhone users start to see that beautiful "Off network" message along with the "°" indicating GPRS. and when I say rural I mean middle of no where mean while I have 4 or 5 bars of 3G with faster data rates than urban cell sites! AT&T rural coverage isn't horrendous but Verizon wins that aspect hands down unarguably. Anyways there is no point in debating keep sipping the Ineedjustificationformychosenserviceproviderbecauseineedtobebetterandiwatchtomanyattcomercial koolaid.

Verizon = SLOW DATA speeds
Verizon = Less coverage overall
Verizon no DATA/Voice at the same time

So you are downgrading.

Well I just made the switch and I am damn happy. With Verizon I actually can make and receive calls or text message. With AT&T I had crappy Edge service or "No Service". It is, after all, a phone and if you cant make calls thenit sucks.

I get coverage with Verizon that i never got with AT&T.

I wanted to wait for the iPhone 5 but couldn't live with ATT any longer. I got the iPhone 4 and I am happy.

All those things that you mention above are meaningless.

I switched to verizon from att a couple weeks ago and haven't looked back since. Best decision I ever made. The speed difference isn't really that noticeable in my opinion.

Just made the switch to VZW from AT&T myself. AMAZING difference. I am in Chicago and service where I live is pathetic with AT&T. AT&T may be faster, but for some reason Verizon loads web pages way faster. Links and pics within the twitter app instantly load with Verizon and holy crap...I can make and receive a phone call!!! Wish I done it sooner.

At&t is ridiculous in San Antonio. 5 bars wherever you go with fast 3g speeds. That's not true everywhere though so Verizon can be better in many areas.

The reason you have blanket coverage in San Antonio was SBC's former world headquarters.

The "new AT&T" is really just SBC after they brought out the "old AT&T". You would expect exceptional coverage in their own back yard.

Similar to what I had with Sprint back in my med school days. Sprint has blanket coverage in the Kansas City area. My school was about one mile away from Sprint's former World Headquarters. Than o moved to NYC and had horrible coverage with Sprint.

No one cell phone provider has perfect coverage. That's why you get 14-30 days to try a service out.

Even when I lived in Wash DC, Verizpn has awesome coverage because that's the former Bell Atlantic area but Nextel was actually the best especially inside buildings. Well Nextel's world headquarters were in the Northern Virginia suburbs and they had a leg up on everyone.

Good post that makes allot of sense and I think its something that's been left out.

I don't this thread was really debating the merits of Android vs iOS. It was about service providers.

Enjoy your HTC.

That's seems to be the key - it all depends on where you are. In most areas of Seattle (ATT) I get pretty good coverage, very rare dropped calls and usually speedy 3G. But even within Markets - some areas seem better than others. I stream music when I drive around time. I can always bet when I get to South Lake Union, I will lose my stream :) If I lived in an area when I had bad coverage and I learned I could get a better signal from another company, I'd move in a heartbeat :)
