I just ordered an iPhone! :D

Yeah so I called and after an hour and fifteen minutes, they said it was backordered. One lady said they only get shipments on Mondays and then I finally spoke to a manager who said:
1) We have no clue why you can't see your order on the Premier site, so just call us for status every few days.
2) We get shipments on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
3) Good news is, on shipment days, we get 1000+ iPhones in and there is only a backorder list of 100 or so. (I wonder if that means I get shipped today or Wednesday? 100 AFTER today or 100 before today? I'll find out around 7PM, but I'm not hopeful since it still says backordered)

So that's what I got from them. I plan on getting a family member to buy it at one of the AT&T stores or Apple stores in town and ship it up to me if it doesn't ship by Thursday.

Orijinal: I will be sure to give it to you when I receive the phone. Are you looking to see how fast they are getting shipped out of the warehouses?

On another note: I FOUND SCRABBLE ON THE APP STORE :D (duh missed the guy's post on the 1st page here). Sadly, it looks to be buggy, but maybe there will be an update. I'm so excited. My favorite board game ever. :D
 
I recommend Simplify Media. It allows you to connect to a shared playlist on your computer. It will set up the list with all your music and will password lock it. Could be handy if you want to have just a few songs on your phone and not have to worry about not having a song with you that you want to listen to. It was free when I got it, I'm not sure if it still is.

Nice sounding app. Sadly, college will ban me from the network if they discover a wireless router in my room. And since I'm an RA, that wouldn't be so good for me. This may be a wonderful app when I'm at home over breaks.

I wish there were more apps that utilized bluetooth connections (I have a laptop w/ bluetooth)... maybe then I could set up an AD HOC connection to my iPhone to share internet and stuff (that's not banned; just routers).
 
iProcrastinate is a good free homework management app, you mentioned wanting something like that.

Other apps i use alot are:
aim, facebook, wikipanion, tip, scrabble, iFlix, movies, shazam, airsharing

Good news :) but bad news :(. I HAVE A PHONE. :D One is assigned to me, but it's not at the warehouse that it needs to ship from, so it may be a few extra days. They are importing it from one of their other warehouses and it should ship out tomorrow or the next day. I hate waiting, but what choice do I really have?

Premier order status still doesn't work, but the normal one is showing this:

It shipped. I paid $15 extra for overnight and they shipped it 2-day! IDIOTS!:mad:

No; 2-day and overnight. I would check but it appears that the site isn't working properly.

Thanks. :D Either way, I will have an iPhone by the end of the week! :D I hope so at least.. pickup on campus sucks and it REQUIRES signature. I hope they sign for it... anyways yeah I hope so :)

35 is what mine, which I grabbed last week from Premier, is saying.

I bought the 8gb iphone from the Premier site last week on the 19th...hasnt shipped yet...i called and they said that it is backordered...

my question is - is there any point in waiting, or can i go and buy it from an at&t store, and then have at&t apply the premier discount?

You *should* be able to purchase it at a corporate store, and get your premier discount applied at that point. I would find your nearest AT&T Corporate store and call them to verify first. Also be sure to have your FAN # in hand when visiting.

thanks! i just called like 4 stores in the area (NY) and no-one has the 8gb in stock...oh well - i finally decide to buy the iphone and i cant!!!

i guess i will keep waiting - any ideas when the stock is expected to be replenished?

I believe somewhere up the page clete said he called them and they receive shipments of 1000 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and fill backorders from that. he was told there were 100 backorders when he called, so it stands to reason it should ship soon and arrive sometime by early next week, I would imagine.

Yeah, that's what they told me. Also, the 16GBs are in stock more often, so if you're willing to dish out the extra $100, you can easily buy it in a store (it was available in the Arnot Mall in Elmira, NY and it was available in a ton of other stores that I looked at).

My phone is currently being shipped from Texas. It is in Memphis, Tennessee right now. And it's been sitting there since 9:30AM this morning. :-/ Hasn't moved yet. :(

It's likely moved a bunch, but FedEx tracking is known to update in spurts -- 3 or 4 scans at a time, several hours late. It's not as real time as it's touted.

Yeah I'm not worried about it. The only thing I'm worried about is the people in the mail office being on lunch when they deliver! That would suck :p.

I have had it before when the package said picked up in california and it hasn't said anything until it said "OUT FOR DELIVERY." So I'm not worried about that.

Should be out for delivery now.. Dumb status says it's still in NJ. Now to wait for delivery and an email from the mail center................. :D

Ok... at 8:31 it is in Horseheads, NY.

this is really weird - in an awesome way!

i called last evening, and they said that it is still backordered...then checked this morning, and guess what - it shipped out last night from texas!!! wait it gets better - fedex also showed an 'out for delivery' message - and an hour back my wife called and said that it has been delivered...

i cant believe how this happened...
6pm last evening - out of stock
1pm today - already delivered...

ok - so now that i have that out of the way, cant wait to get home...can i activate it from home? i read somewhere that i can...

awesome!!!

I dont think you can activate it from home. Great nickname btw. Congrats on your new phone.
