Not to crush anybody's dreams on here but if you plan on tethering your wifi only iPad, I hope you know there's no assisted-GPS chip in those models. I too am using a hotspot for my data (not using the sim for specific reasons) but I need turn by turn for my application so I got the LTE iPad. I tried it with a wifi only iPad Air and all it does is tell you directions that you manually have to put in.

Silver 64GB LTE
Just moved from Processing to Preparing for Shipment.

I don't drive since I find it costs way more then just taking public transportation and my phone has a 5.7 inch screen which is good enough for me to find directions.

I understand why people need LTE but Imo $130 is a bit to much for it

From what I understand, that's where they will be received when they arrive from China. From there, it will be moved to delivery trucks. I'm in Misissauga so it's about 20 minutes from me. My expected delivery date is October 23 - 27. We'll probably see "Out for Delivery" tomorrow morning at around 5 AM lol (every $800+ Apple product I've ever purchased does this long haul and then shows up in either Concord or Burlington, and then goes out for delivery 5 AM the next morning.)

Can't wait for tomorrow, my Smart Cover will probably be waiting for me when I get home lol

OH YOU ARE AWESOME THANK YOU!!! I'm in etobicoke so I'm REALLY hoping its gonna be here tomorrow!! thank you thank you thank you!

Which is silly since you can provide external gps data to iOS. The phone should be able to forward to the iPad

There are various GPS receivers (standalone) that send gps coordinates via bluetooth..

I used to have a TomTom charging car dock that had its own GPS receiver, esp nice for the iPhone 3/4 whos A-GPS wasn't that great...

There isn't any reason why Apple couldn't forward GPS data from a phone to an iPad

Except that they want you to spend 130 extra

This is brilliant. I never knew such a thing existed. Thank you!

And if you happen to have the sdk for such device your can send it whatever coordinates you like, you can be the mayor of any foursquare location or check in wherever you like on Facebook

I got mine, just got home from work, and there it was. Very responsive, and beautiful. The screen quality kind of resembles the 6+, which is a good thing! Love the Touch ID, and 2GB of RAM!!!:apple:

Preordered - Nor' Jersey

I have two 128GB SG iPad Air 2 Wifi and Cellular on order from Apple that just went to preparing for shipment. My order still says delivers 10/22-10/24. So, I am hoping for a Friday delivery!!

If these are shipping from Louisville, I might get mine tomorrow.

Can't wait for a tracking number.

Before it showed CONCORN, ON it only showed "Order Processed, Ready for UPS" right? And then after it showed a whole bunch ending with Concord? Is that accurate?

Mine says Burlington, ON in the app, as it being From:, but the facility hasn't received it yet, it still says showed "Order Processed, Ready for UPS". I'm guessing it will be at some point later on tonight.

Preorder ritual

Aside from the fun/suspense of staying up all night fighting an overwhelmed web page and the camaraderie of hanging out on this forum, pre-ordering seems pointless. I ordered my 128gb gold wifi air 2 from Apple's site late Monday night. It will be delivered to Ohio Friday.

Especially since the orders weren't accepted at the online store until 8am Pacific!

Where did your shipments originate?

Delivered and set up. :D

Air2 128GB Wifi SG. Was delivered around 11:30 (shipped yesterday from Harrisburg, PA) and finally got chance to get it out of the box to turn it on and charge it. It's sitting in front of my iPad 3rd gen. The case (Apple smart case) is nice as the case edge around the bezel extends just slightly above the glass. And the built-in (fold up) stand does hold it up securely (I have found that the smart cover on my mini can be a bit flaky sometimes so I went with the full case for the Air2). I did test the smart feature and it does work.

Probably China? Lol .. According to the UPS app, it says Burlington, Ontario Canada

Is it showing the service as "UPS Standard" for yours? I guess it doesn't matter as much if you live in Ontario but anywhere else in Canada and it adds an entire week onto the delivery date, really wondering what Apple was thinking this time around..

Yeah, mine says UPS Standard . Now it's in Concord lol. It just got there apparently. I wonder why the app says Burlington as the origin?? To get to Concord, it literally had to PASS my house lol
