i ordered the 8gb yesterday with next day shipping and it said it would be delivered the 10th. today i changed my mind, cancelled the order and ordered the 32gb with next day shipping and now it says it will be delivered the 13th. WTF!

For one, the 8GB are in less demand than the 32GB. In the first 24 hours I'm sure they racked up quite a list of pre-orders for the 32GB, and now you're much further from the top of the list, knocking your order back a few days.

Maybe you'll get a surprise and it'll come sooner.

You have up to a year to purchase it. As long as you get it before the 1-year expires, you're fine.

Generally, it's a good investment for the peace of mind alone, but it also increases the resale value.

Ah ok. Well I didn't buy directly from the Apple store but it was an authorized Apple store...if that makes sense (Mac Connection). lol Does that warranty still go for authorized apple stores too?

This is why you pre-order early and know exactly what you want. A few days isn't going to kill you. You may even get it earlier than you expect

Why do you guys like paying for tax?? not to mention, i have free prime (student) so that means i get free 2nd day shipping!!

if i were to buy it from apple, it would be in store so i could get it instantly, but i would rather wait then pay the tax on a 300 dollar item.

I get taxed from Amazon and Apple the same NY sales tax. For a lot of us, it makes no difference. The only tax-free options are newegg.com, and sweetwater.com, and neither will probably have the new models immediately.

Amazon actually has taxes in Canada so it makes no difference as to where I order it except that I get a free engraving, and fast and reliable shipping with Apple. It's fairly easy to make a choice.
