The OP Dads, brothers friend or whatever is not wrong.......................................remember the saying tomorrow never comes..........so it will be tomorrow..............but which tomorrow

LOL, so did you mean tomorrow as in Thursday or Tomorrow being that the original post was yesterday, thus tomorrow being today?

have you guys never gets tired of this? :D

i mean the "new MBP next week, awesome!!!, new MBP release next tuesday, yay!!!" games? :D

i mean like, you could have enjoyed the best notebook there is since 3 months ago, but you guys are making it hard for your own :D

The thing is, my mom's friend really does work for Apple and he NEVER tells us anything. He has a pretty high position in Asia too (looking for business card atm). I don't believe the real Apple employees really will share info.

So... after the great disappointment of today who wants to know when these updated MBP's are actually coming??

Well, my friends dad's brother works for Apple Inc. not in the retail store i'll let you know, and when i said to him whats up with these MBP's, he just gave me a little wink and nod, i swear the words tomorrow were uttered !!

Time for everyone to get welllll excited, i predict tomorrow!!! 99% sure!

Apple is innovative, time for a Wednesday release!!

Be quiet you foolish boy.

Exactly LOL which day is tomorrow. If it was yesterday then today is tomorrow, but today is today so tomorrow is tomorrow and so on:D

He says "Time for a Wednesday release" - I think that's the give away.

I think he's wrong, except:

iPod classic/Nano/Shuffle: Weds 05/09/07
Macbook last updated: Thurs 01/11/07
Cinema displays last updated: Weds 04/04/07

So Apple don't only update stuff on a Tuesday...

How do you know this?

He doesn't... It is just fun to tease the people like this. ;) I'm a also waiting desperately for the next gen MacBooks Pro. But I still try to be relaxed about it. They are there when they are there. Going crazy about it doesn't make the waiting any shorter, just more painful as it already is.

I host seminars for Apple. And I'm referred to by them as a 'promoter' I am a VIP customer and a top tier retail customer. Rest assured I've tried to get an insiders opinion on the imminent MBP update and Apple staff know less about an MBP update than we do here at macrumors.
When Jobo released the iPhone only 30 odd people had actually seen it. The software and hardware development team were actually housed in two entirely separate buildings and had no idea what they were working on.
Needless to say, Apple staff don't have a clue. If an insider gives you a *wink* and whispers you a date, take it with a pinch of salt.

everyone knows that - it was in a Wired article.

so much for that idea...

well the day isn't over, but it appears that things aren't going to turn out as i expected.
i was wrong, and to all those whose hopes that i raised, i sincerely apologise.

nevertheless, it has shocked me how immature the macrumors community appear to be. Admittedly it isn't everyone, but some of the comments posted here are a little over the top. It is a computer afterall!

:apple:

It is a computer afterall!

Exactly! :)

I will never get why people are selling their computer or delay to buy a new one just because there MIGHT be an update in a few days and then complain all the time that they don't have a machine to work with.

It is not that the current line-up of MacBook Pros is unusable since months...

Your right the day is not over yet. But I really do doubt new machines today.
It's 16:32 here in Ireland.
11:32 in NYC
But only 8:32 in Cupertino.

Anyway I just wish my Macbook Pro would ship! Be it a new model or the current SR. I want it now! :)

Next time, please reply to one of the existing "speculation" threads, rather than creating a new one. Thanks.

The way I see it, if I buy a MBP today I'm buying technology that is eight months old. If I hang on (probably) just a few weeks I can spend the same money but get a higher spec'd machine which, in theory, will last eight months longer (in a few years some software's minimum requirements will be above that of the current MBPs but will run on the soon-to-be-released MBPs.)

I didn't pay attention to any rumours when I bought my PowerBook G4. Just a week after it arriving, Apple announced they were dropping IBM and going to Intel. The resale value of that machine plummeted. I don't want to make that mistake again.

I see people waiting as people who are shrewd with their money. £1300+ is a lot of cash to spend and those who are hedging their bets are, in my opinion, very sensible.
