yes apple does make it more difficult to jailbreak, but that's because you can unlock it and use it on a different carrier and they have a service aggrerment with att. plus you can damage the device, and you can get free paid Apps in the app store.

apple is restrictive because they want a simple, smooth device the more they allow you to customize the device the less it looks like their signature pic of it. they want all of their devices to function and work together which means they want them all to look the same. their os seems "stale" and outdated to some. but it is still the easiest and most smooth to use and that's what they want. the Design is the same and it still looks like a sexy device. their is no clutter.

they know what they are doing. yes they have three different models but for someone developing an app or a game. they are developing for the same device. same resolution screen, same size, same specs.

apples next phone may not look Like the best on paper, but the way the hardware and the os work together are what make it shine. think about the 2g iphone besides 3g, it still is more impressive than most devices today. the 2 megapixel camera on the 3g takes better shots then my 5 megapixel camera on the hero. imagine how well the 720p rumored video and 5 megapixel in the next one.

yes it seems restrictive but that is how they appeal to the average consumer.

plus jb solves everything.
