I wasn't originally sold on the new screen, but now I really like it.

I checked one out at BB the other day as i'm not eligible for an upgrade for another month and love the larger size screen but the lightness of it does make it seem "cheap". I always thought the 4 felt solid .

The screen size is not a selling point of the iPhone 5. Its a cop out as far as I am concerned.

But...

LTE,
Screen Clarity,
Weight

Are reasonable reasons to upgrade

If you want to feel cheap, hold a plastic Android phone.. they remind me of my old graphing calculators.

Weight is not the driving factor of this "feeling like a toy". Materials play a much larger role. A diamond ring is far lighter than an iPhone 5, and certainly doesn't feel cheap. Personally the material choices on the iP5 don't feel the least bit cheap to me.

I'm also finding it hard to get used to... Its been a week 5 days for me. The funny thing is that I've never had this odd feeling about an apple product... But the awkward reach scenarios have me saying "what the heck is going on here?"

this. The build of the phone feels and looks great...anything but cheap.

This screen size "I can't type with one hand" issue is way overblown. You know what, apple? If you want a wider screen with thumb functionality, why don't you use your heads and impliment a 4/4S size keyboard that has a little extra screen on the side - and make it switchable for left/right handed users! There is no law that says your on-screen keyboard has to be the exact size of the width of the phone!

When I first got the 5 I hated the display and hated the lack of heft. Considered returning it, buying a 4S off Craigslist, and pocketing the $350. But a week after using it my typing has improved over previous iPhones, I can easily reach all areas of the display, and I like the way this display looks, especially widescreen. If apple widened the display just to the edges of the glass I think I would enjoy it even more. You get used to this display.

Also, when you set a 4 by a 5, the 5 truly does look more professional and modern.

I doubt any company would do that, especially apple. That doesn't look clean at all. I know apps on the iphone 5 are like that height wise right now have the space, but that will be updated.

that being said the size of the phone is just fine.!

glad im 6'5"..

my hand has no problems using it solo.
i can see how the bump in size could be annoying to some.

Ooh clever.

i know right.. because the OP didnt say he likes the phone in all.. //sarcasm
people like that on here must have a sad social life.

I didnt think I would like the screen, but after a few days of owning it I can't even think of going to a 4/4S. It looks stubby in comparison.

I think the screen could have gone a tad wider, but overall the 5 is a real nice phone. I didnt have any of the scuff issues thankfully, so I am a happy camper

Coming from an Android phone with a normal screen ratio I'm actually thinking of returning it. It's way to tall and not wide enough. :/

So why did all the apple kids go from scoffing at the idea of a longer iPhone with a two-tone back, to PRAISING it as the PERFECT design?

You guys made Yoshi cry.

First day of use is a little weird. You feel like everything's stretched up in some wrong way. 6 days later, as soon as I pick a 4/4S all I can think of is where has all the real estate of the screen gone. I couldn't go back now.

I'm the opposite. I now pick up my iPhone 4 and ask myself how the hell have I been putting up with this heavy 3.5 screen

I have a Galaxy S with a normal sized 4.0" display. Not narrowed down like the one on my iPhone 5. Because Apple can officially brag about the "larger display" without disclosing that's it's an oddball shape, people will naturally believe it's a regular 4.0" like other phones use.

Then there's my Galaxy S III with it's gorgeous 4.8" display. Spacious, easier & faster to type on it's a dream. Too bad Apples so addicted to small phones.

Too bad I returned my S III for having a really yellow screen and text (while surfing) that was harder to read than that on my 4S. To each his own, I guess.

Me, I'm really pleased with the size. I was against it when I first heard, but the more I use it, the more I like it.

I totally don't understand people who say it feels cheap. I love the lightness of it and think it feels totally solid. The screen is geourgeous and the little bit of extra space comes in handy.

I came from an iPhone 4 and it was an excellent upgrade for me.

Many people fail to realize Samsung phones have warranty's.

You obviously had a defective phone.

My SGS III is the best of the four new smartphones I own.

Defective phone? I suppose the display models I saw in my local AT&T store were all defective as well?
