I love my MacBook Pro.

The only issue I have with it is it won't let me install Windows. I need it installed natively, but doesn't even let me start up into the installation DVD. I guess to some, they may consider this a blessing? :p

Anyways, I have to use virtualization instead.

You can't use bootcamp?

I do have to agree with everyone in that USB3 and/or e-sata would have been nice considering that USB3 is backwards compatible. I am only hoping that Thunder Bolt proves worth it….

Regardless of all the concerns of things that the 2011 MACBOOK PRO is lacking posted by the people who posted in this thread, my MAC is perfect for me. That is really what matters when making a purchase. If not a MAC I hope that everyone finds their perfect computer match...

Peace Out Everybody…

Just FYI- it's Mac. Not MAC.

MAC is a brand of female beauty products.

Love my MBP, my iphone and ipad. Zero issues with them all :D

Actually same here… We have 2 x MACBOOK PROs/ 1 x 2006 MACBOOK (BLACK)/2 x iPads 64GB 3g and 16GB wifi/ 1 x 64GB iPod / Apple TV (II)/ 2 x 32GB iPhone 4s/ 1 x iPod Nano and 1 x iPod shuffle…

No Problems!

I haven't had any hardware issues with my new MBP. I've had some weird video glitches with iTunes/QT X that I didn't with my old MacBook, but it's nothing using QT 7 and/or MPlayer X doesn't cure while waiting for the QT X frameworks to mature.

No overheating or freezing problems, though.

I thought it stood for Media Access Control.

I have a late 2008 15", pretty highly loaded. Really like it. Going to be selling it soon though as replaced with MBA + iMac combo.

Have had some problems, logic board needed replacing, later on the optical drive too. But AppleCare and local Apple store (central London) and really quick turnaround made these problems no big deal.

I love my MACBOOK PRO… (w/ Zero Issues) am I alone?

I recently got my 15" MacBook Pro - Basic/Low End. I am still learning and getting use to using it . Although I tend to use my iMac 24 more often than not, so far I am very satisfied with my MBP:). At any rate, I will be taking my MBP with me on a trip to the west coast. I recommend Mac to my PC friends who always claim that Macs are overpriced. When it comes to :apple: I believe you really do get a good product. You get what you pay for and the truth be told those PC guys simply don't want to get off the cash.

I love my 2011 i5 MBP, I do not anticipate any issues, it's quieter than a hearse's radio and I have yet to hear a single whir or otherwise take note of anything heating up, spooling up, or notifying me it's struggling with anything I toss it's way.

It just smiles as it crunches the task issued and mocks me with a "That all you got, you woke me up for this, no seriously?"

17" 2011 no issues, even at 10.6.6 highest temp reached only 90c, also did not freeze. 17" runs cooler by 5c than 13" 2010, 13" also perfect no issues.

I am also a new Mac person. For years I've advocated for PC and now I feel like I've lost years of my life with PC. I love :apple: now and I don't know how I could have felt otherwise. I need to apologize to all the people who I've persuaded to stick with PC, I'm ashamed of my past opinion. Macs are awesome and now I want an iPad (i love how it just auto corrected my spelling of iPad) :apple: pricing is steep but you get what you pay for and if you have the money then its better to have an expensive Mac vs. a cheap PC. Apple is more than just superb style, its superb quality as well.

I don't know why you feel the need to apologize to anyone. I still recommend PCs left and right to many people; Macs are expensive to a lot of folk and Windows 7 and the upcoming Windows 8 have become quite excellent OSes.

Why? In a number of situations, PCs are a better option then a Mac. I love Macs, have been using them since the Macintosh SE days but I've recommended PCs from time to time.

Sure Macs with zero issues are the norm rather than the exception. Of course on the internet you'd think there is a high failure rate, but you would find the same across platforms and different hardware brands. I can't imagine trying to make a computer that is compatible with every piece of software and peripheral makes you appreciate Apples careful standards with developers. Its better to have high standards than try to be everything to everybody.

Aside from some problems I've encountered, I love using my Mac as well. However, I have noticed the quality degrade a bit as they have become more popular. Perhaps switching to a MBP from a Fujitsu Lifebook back in 2006 skewed my view a little. Maybe there are better options out there now?

Bought a macbook back march of 2008 after hackintoshing all of my PC's (I never had enough money for a mac so had to improvise) and since then had a few different macbooks and macbook pro's but kept my early 2008 17" and recently bought a new 15" and never had a problem with ANY of them.

Any real complaints are the cosmetic, the once in awhile defect i guess.
Either than that, hardware software, never had any problems whatsoever.

I've been using the same Early 2008 MBP for over 3 1/2 years. It still looks and runs like it did when I first pulled it out of the box. I've never had problems with it at all. Best notebook I've ever had, and I've owned quite a few!

^ This. Few things are one-size-fits-all. If you think any given thing should be recommended to every single person out there without any regard for the individual's needs/wants then you really shouldn't be making recommendations in the first place. Consider the person you're making the recommendation for.

Its better to have high standards than try to be everything to everybody.
Better is always highly subjective, regardless of topic. May be better in your opinion but the next person can certainly have an entirely different opinion (in case you haven't noticed this IRL).

The backlight on my 17" 2011 model has an LED placed right under the '5' key, which makes it glow brighter, but otherwise no issues of actual importance at all. :) I can live with the backlighting issue if that's all there's wrong with it.

Thanks a lot. I just looked at my MBP and noticed that the '5' key lights up a little more than any of the others.

My Late 2008 MBP is reaching it's third birthday (from the day I bought it), and I've had zero manufacturing problems. I did wreck the hard drive a while ago, but that was my own fault. As an early birthday gift, she got a memory upgrade (4GB -> 8GB), and she couldn't be happier. Easily the best notebook I've even owned, and since it was my first Apple product, probably the reason I'm a fan of Apple products.
