i know there is currently a topic but does anyone know of one that i could purchase that would fit an iphone 4 with a bumper case?

$79!? For a mount!?

I have this one and it's fantastic, plus, you can't beat the price

Your product requires the iPhone to be taken out of the case adding more steps. With the ProClip, you have the ability to just dock the iPhone (2g, 3g, 3gs, 4) into a holder with any case you want. There is also a pass-thru port on the bottom for attaching to your car's AC charger. I use bluetooth to stream music to my cars stereo, to answer calls, and use as a GPS system. This is the best solution for quick entry and removal from the car.

There has got to be something better and less expensive. I'm surprised at how many mounts I've seen that have no support for cases; it's crazy.

I've always been amazed that none of the case manufactures offer any other accessories such as docks or car mounts that are compatible with their cases.

I'd reccomend this arkon mount:

They have a few different options for mounting, like cupholder, dash, etc. Works with a gel or hard case too.

The Arkon mounts look promising, and at $14.95 it's very inexpensive. Anyone know what the difference is between the IPM514 and IPM515 models? Also, anyone know of a dealer in Canada? Arkon wants $22 to ship from their site.

Was hard to tell if it does both landscape and portrait positions, but I found a PDF that shows it has a ball mounted plate:

I wish the arm was a bit longer. I really like the extension of the Griffin model I used on the 3GS, but this might be a good option. Compatibility with a case is really nice.

the arkron doesnt have a vent mount. :/

Can anyone advise if the brodit pass through mount works with the bumper case on? I've already had to cut the dock connector on my griffin autopilot to allow it to be used with the bumper?

Thanks.

Go to Target. I got a windshield mount pretty cheap. It is full adjustable. It fit my 3GS with otter box case barely. Fits my 4g with griffin perfectly.

that one is sooo ugly tho, i like the window mount ver, might pull the trigger idk yet.

I have the pro clip and it is awesome. Super sturdy and custom for my TSX. I got the adjustable one that works for 3GS phones with a case. No complaints at all but it is on the expensive side.

Just tonight, I picked up a Kensington iPod/iPhone mount. It was marked down from $29.99 to $24.99, and then there's a $10 rebate. So $14.99 total, no shipping…this was from Fry’s. I never buy retail, but took a short drive out there, and it was worth it.

So the Kensington Windshield/Vent car mount *does* work with the iPhone 4 *with* a bumper. Holds it just fine, doesn't slip.

I went with this one even though I'd used the Griffin Window Seat for my 3G and 3GS. I contacted the company & learned that while they are going to release a product for the iPhone 4, they made it very clear to me that they will *NOT* sell me JUST THE iPHONE HOLDER. I would have to spend -another- $34.99 to buy an entirely new complete Window Seat…which I will NOT do & find ridiculous.

Kensington + Fry’s = WIN

ProClip's stuff is worth it. Calling them this morning to see when their iPhone 4 model is due...

*EDIT: Due to Company Trolls around here during a major product launch, I need to clarify that I don't work for ProClip, blah blah blah. See that Join Date over there <<<<? :)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

I just glued a standard apple dock to my dash. It's very secure, iPhone is held at the perfect viewing angle. I ran a USB cable and an audio cable behind the dash, it looks like a custom installation.

From another thread...FYI

I placed my iPhone 4 in a Luxe slim case and it fits in my Proclip mount nice and snug. The mount was adjusted for a 3GS with an Incipio Feather. I emailed ProclipUSA yesterday about the availability of an iPhone 4 mount and this was their response:

Thank you for your interest in our ProClip*Holders.* At this time we do not have a*Holder for iPhone 4.* We do anticipate making one, however due to the large number of new products we are developing, we cannot give a specific date as to when*this will be available.**You will be notified by e-mail as soon as the Holder has been received at our warehouse and is ready for online ordering.

Just called ProClip. Rueben said they could have product ready by end of week or just after. I'm on the email availability list and will post back here when I get the word.
