Proclip will have iPhone 4 mounts in a week. iPhone 4+bumper mounts will be ready in 2 weeks

Does that setup work with the iP4 in the bumper? Or is that a 3G/3G(s) model?

I don't have a bumper. The mount pictured above is for 3G/3GS and it fits my 4 fine. It's a little loose, but probably not loose enough to accommodate a bumper. Per above, stay tuned for a new mount from Proclip.

Holy cow! Those guys at mobile driven don't mess about. The car mount is dispatched already:eek::D

Cool. Don't know them from Adam. But got answers to all my questions in minutes. Glad to see that. :)

I Googled them but only got their website, so at least no bad reviews.

Paypal was a payment option so I was happy with that.

Unfortunately, none of those work with the Bumper on the phone... I just called Pro-Clip and they told me that they are making one specifically for the IP4 with the Bumper, but it's not quite ready.

I've been considering picking up the ProClip for my car, but I don't know which holder to get exactly. I have an Incipio Feather on my i4...just wandering if the current adjustable holder would fit the phone with my case.

The ProClip stuff is well-made, but the adjustable model is kind of a blunt-force object in terms of adjustability. And that's a good thing. Four separate wheels tighten (and re-tighten) to grab the phone. I've had the ProClip for my 3G phone in a Tacoma that wasn't driven lightly and the holder never failed to function.

FWIW.

that proclip stuff is nice but come on, $35 for the mount and another $30 for the holder

Yup. Not for you. But there's a really swell Giant Red Nipple Suction Doohickey that might interest you. See previous posts for all the Red Nip' Rad-ness!

And wait, you're complaining about ProClip's prices but...you pre-ordered the Vapor case?

I'm confused. :p

They may seem tackey, but I really want a good quality 12v cigarette lighter mount. They way my car is set up ('06 Kia SPECTRA5) and how my seat is adjusted, a dash mount is too high to reach without leaning forward and a vent clip isn't much better. Ideally, I'd like for it to hang about even with my car stereo, so a 12v mount seems like the only option (without sacrificing a cup holder). Also, vertical AND horizontal rotation is vital.

Anyone have some suggestions or reviews of their own? ProClip seems pretty popular, but they're strictly vent mounts, unless they have one with an arm that can be adjusted to hang lower.

arkon

FWIW

I bought, and will return, the Arkon IPM515. It comes with the suction mount, a dash mount disc, and the slim grip holder. I had a few issues. One, the arm on the windshield mount is WAY too short in my Hyundai Santa Fe. Two, the slim grip mount relies on 4 "fingers" you insert into the clip, 2 on top and 2 on bottom. I ended up using only 1 on top because the second rested squarely on the on/off button. To be fair, they are movable, but one did the job. The third, and the biggest problem, was how tight the slim grip was when trying to put my phone into it, and take it back out. It required two hands, and quite a bit of pressure, IMO, to get the phone in and out; and that was too awkward for me. Not to mention I felt like I was damaging the phone every time I did it. I wasn't, but that is what it felt like.

I have a Kensington Quick Grip for my 3G, and it is awesome. And I find it holds my naked iP4 well enough to get by until they update their line specifically for iP4.

ProClip does make non-vent mounts (my Tacoma mount was a nice middle console clip model—and my Honda Fit Proclip mounts on the A-Pillar), but they're not as common.
