I started by mowing lawns, making $8 an hour, and my brother started by making slideshows for special occasions (bar/bat mitzvah's, weddings etc.) and making a lot of money by doing that, though I never had the skill to to that!

Anyway, good luck getting that iPod Touch

at least your doing the right things and wanting to work instead of stealing and selling drugs to make you happy.

im only 20 years old but trust me when i myself and others say " once you start working its a LONG time before it stops"

Ditch the paper route and apply at the local McDonalds, pizza place, ect. You should get there in a few weeks that way.

I second this.

While I was a student, I actually really enjoyed working in Burger King. I earned a lot of money, too!

So i cant get a real job because i'm not 17. I really want an ipod touch but my parents are strict so i dont get an allowance and i cant do chores for money around the house. I have a paper route but i will have to wait another year for my ipod! So do you have any ideas for me to make money so i can get one? I already have $75:apple:

I thought this was going to be one of those "plz send me moneyzz" threads. :p

I am in my mid-teens and just do some work for neighbours and also a parttime DJ (a party every couple of weeks when I need quick cash).

Kid, money and goods, basically everything in life is a consequence.

You want an iPod Touch but for what? what is the experience you are looking for? having fun? sharing experiences?

I am 36, I have a digital media mayor since 1998. I studied virtual reality and enhanced reality seriously, not just Photoshop playing. Since my studies I tried to be as far as technology as I could. It is a marketing tramp. Specially in the US.

Thank got you do not have an internet addiction. My ex girlfriend was addicted to the internet, forums and facebook. She graduated from business administration with a PHD in marketing. Today she is selling donuts door to door with her new boyfriend.

Internet should be sued for what it is: a data base to find information. The social media crap is the doom. The paradise of the looser and shy and the person with the lack of social skills. Go to any dating web site and you will find the most dysfunctional people there.

Get into karate, you will love it. Montain biking (girls love guys in shape), spend your time doing outdoor stuff even when life seems slower. Trust me, you will reach your goals in life way faster than the kid with the iPad who has never kiss a girl and will be masturbating and virgin until they turn 28 (I have seen that a lot).

Be street wise, that is what is going to get you there in life. And use the internet to locate information and forget about gaming, it is a tramp to get you addicted to technology and screen and to sell you stuff.

My two cents.

Your two cents is of great advice. However, try to stay on topic while posting. By the way, if it were not for the Internet, some of our goals today may have not been accomplished. That's my two cents.

So much lol...get with the times. I bet you are so IN with the ladies mate.

Working age is 14..........

I'm lucky though I can in work in my parents business. Because of that I have a Macbook air (13.3",1.86Ghz processor, 4GB Ram), Alienware m15x (15", i7 2.8Ghz turbo mode processor, 4GB Ram), iPod touch 32GB 3rd Gen, iPhone 4 16GB Verizon, Xbox 360S 250GB, 2X 1 TB external drives, and a 20" external monitor w/ Joystick 4 flight simulator. So yeah I mean I've been working for them for like 3 summers now and I still have around $7,500 (which I am going to use to buy the new mac pro when it comes out). So work hard and you can get what you want.

BTW I'm 13 years old.

Wow holy crap, you were horrendously overpaid. No offence. Don't expect to earn that much when you enter the real workforce. Also don't spend all the cash as fast as possible on computers and stuff, save up when you finish school it can buy a ok car and get you some hot ladies.

Everything was reasonably said until you hit "get you some hot ladies".

Firstly, belated birthday greetings.

Secondly, some of the suggestions on the thread are not so bad; offering to mow lawns, wash cars, clean swimming pools, for neighbours, and do other jobs that no-one really wants to do in order to make a bit of money. As you are only 13, I'm not sure that legally you would be old enough for a part time position in a place like McDonalds.

Thirdly, LIGHTNING suggested a raincheck for your birthday (which I hadn't realised was today), which is a good idea; how about a bit of a raincheck for Christmas, too, and ask any other relatives - uncles, aunts, grandparents, siblings, to contribute - in a raincheck sort of way - to a future iTouch. Adults like the idea of contributing to a present that hints at the idea of 'deferred gratification'. It also means that contributions can be made by installment, rather than all at once.

Best of luck with it.

Cheers

Sorry about that, I wear glasses and unfamiliar (or seemingly familiar) words sometimes blur. (Why all the spaces between letters? Notwithstanding that, I never even noticed that your username lacked an 'n'......oooops, mea culpa). Anyway, clearly, I misread it.

But good suggestion to the poor suffering OP.

Cheers

WOW

For 5 months I didn't realized I misspelled lightning till now.

I meant it to be the sky lightning never light ing.....argh too bad we can't change it.

Macrumors woulnd't allow alt codes in username so I put spaces to make it unique.

Fair enough - ahem, cough, ooops, never thought this would be your response; and here was I blaming my poor strained eyes, and debating the wisdom (while trying to overlook or deny the flagrant lack of coolness factor) of using a larger font occasionally........ah well.....L I G H T I N G has its own intrinsic logic, every bit as much as
L I G H T N I N G

To the OP, apologies for derailing (even temporarily) your thread. And best of luck with your attempt to secure a the means to buy an iTouch.

Cheers

"I have an really good Apple analogy I just heard - the battery is like a muscle and you do not want to use it, just get weaker and weaker.

I got about 50% after 6 hours straight just spent my iPad. More than 6 hours of reading and the iBook, surfing, Hulu was + flow. I really do not think it can always be charged. These things during the day he died."

Not the most correct translation (used Google Translate, but it makes sense for the most part). I am not really sure how this pertains to the OP, but thought i would translate...

Yes all of these ideas are great...for someone a couple years older than me. I'm 13 so McDonalds,Pizza Place and things like that aren't legal jobs for someone my age. So i need something that will make me $400 in less than a year. I have no idea what to do! :apple::apple:
