Thanks guys :)

Im glad Apple has a way to get around it. I'm not booting back into Leopard. :D

Now to figure out why Windows didnt install....

You're very odd dude, I'm serious. You started a thread stating you HATE Windows, it broke your Mac, yeah part of that was out of frustration but you seemed like you were sort of serious.
What's interesting is you bought a Mac, first day using it and not even after 1 day of owning it you already are installing an OS you claim to hate, it's already causing you frustration. NOW that your issue is solved you say you are NOT booting back into Leopard but you want to find out why Windows didn't install???

I say, leave it alone, why did you buy a Macintosh in the first place?

he meant "I am now booting into Leopard" I believe.

I am planning to switch over completely to Macintosh eventually. As of now, I have recently got some new software that requires me to have XP. My firm has also not switched over to Leopard yet, but we are doing so soon, so now I still have to use XP. That is why :)

Also, my discs arent ejecting in XP, any ideas?

Ah, now that makes much more sense, I wasn't understand you very well. Assuming you have already installed the bootcamp drivers you can go into the Start menu and choose Computer and eject from Drive D by right clicking or choose eject from the Explorer window.

Right-click on the drive (in XP) and choose eject.

Install the drivers from the Leopard DVD as soon as you take the XP disc out.

Thanks, I tried that and it didnt work.

I'm booting back into Leopard and am going to eject the disc that way. Then I'll go back into XP and insert the Leopard DVD.

Now to avoid booting back into Leopard to eject a disc, do I want to put in the OSX Install disc in, or the Application disc in?

The OP prolly can't right click, unless of course an external mouse is being used.

You can do it from the My Computer.

Yes, it doesn't look like he tried to do it from My Computer's Explorer window. That was the suggestion I had as well. Guess he didn't read it.

If you are referring to the bootcamp drivers then you have to put in the OS X install disk.

New problem :) :(

When I insert the disc, Windows says that the disc requires a newer version of Windows installer. The bad thing is that the computer cant connect to the internet. Why? I don't know. Both the wired and wireless connections dont work.

I cant wait until I can go all Leopard..

Ok i have to say my cents and stuff so basically to eject in xp you have to click the cd/dvd in my computer click it once and on the side bar it says eject you clikc that it comes out, even tho it was already solved, if its windows xp sp2 which it has to be it should have to be able to install the drivers unless if they put new drivers since the new macbooks came out which probably happened seeing you have a unibodie thats where i have nothing else to say since i dont know :p

Ok, here is the link to the updated installer.

If you can download it to a different computer, or even reboot into Leopard and copy it to a CD/external drive/thumb drive, then just install it in XP, after that your drivers should install.

Thanks for the link. I'm actually installing SP2 now so we'll see if that works first. If not I'll download the updated installer.

edit: SP2 didnt work....It didnt have enough space

So anyways I put the installer on my thumbdrive and hopefully that will work.

if you don't have service pack 2 installed. go to leopard side download Parallels or VMWare fusion demo (i would use VMware). boot from your windows drive within vmware and download service pack 2 and save on your window partition. now boot natively from windows and go to the start menu select 'run'
1. Click Start - Run - Type “regedit” and press enter.

2. Navigate to

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup]

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\Software
\Microsoft
\Windows
\CurrentVersion
\Setup

3. In the right pane, Right-click (you will have to go to the menu) and select New - String value

4. Name it as “BootDir” and set its value to “C:\”

Now that that is done install service pack 2. after it install it will want to restart, it might not finnish shutting down if it dosen't just do it manually. now you should be able to install the drivers from the mac os x install DVD

this probably made no since to you
