So you prefer the lag, stutter, and vastly inferior multitasking of the 6 plus?
the 6+ will start to lag & stutter while the 6s+ will be humming along beautifully.
The 6 plus was a lag machine from the beginning because it was crippled with lack of RAM.
nobody can pull this stunt off, the 6+ is a steaming pile compared to the 6S+
To the poster below, 10000x this. Even just weeks before the 6s+ was announced, everyone was saying that the 6+ was the best phone ever and there was no lag, and that 1GB of RAM was plenty.

Seems like everyone around here needs to justify their purchase. When they had the 6+, they wanted everyone to think how great it was, yet the moment they upgraded they had to prove to themselves that upgrading to the 6s+ was worth the cost.

Funny how that was not the case when it was introduced. Back then, the 5s was being called a steaming pile compared to the 6/6+.

The last iPhone is always a steaming pile compared to the new release. Some things never change around here.

Don't think that has been the case for everyone at all, especially not in places like these types of forums.

actually, plenty of people complained about 1GB of RAM. The 6+'s multi tasking capabilities were virtually non existent.

If you're trying to suggest somehow that the 6 Plus is better than the 6s Plus and thus justify your decision to keep the 6 Plus, you are sorely mistaken.
No. He just suggest for people who want to upgrade to think twice before they spend their hard earned money. And he is right in a way. There is not a huge difference between the two to spend that much.

There's the rub. For some the 6+ was crippled and frustrating straight out of the box, and for others they don't even notice the extra RAM & faster CPU in the 6S+. Different uses, different needs.

You must have ignored the tons of threads and topics discussing and complaining of lag and poor multitasking on the 6 Plus. There were plenty. Nothing needs to be justified, the 6S+ is superior to the 6+ in absolutely every way, objectively, subjectively, however you want to slice it. The only one justifying anything is the OP who chose the inferior device.

While there were a group of posters who said they were satisfied with its performance, there were probably an equal number who complained about it.

While I agree with most of this... Before quoting a post of mine maybe check posting history. I have said from the begin that the 6 Plus was a crippled device. Which is also why I had the regular 6 instead of the plus...

And there were just as many people on this forum saying that there is no lag, 1GB of RAM is plenty, and the 6+ is perfectly fine. Now that the 6s+ is out though, those people are no longer defending the 6+ as they moved on to the 6s+ and now need to defend that.

That maybe true, but I didn't defend mine whilst I owned it. People do move on but some of us are honest about what we have at the time.

The OIS during video recording of the 6s+ along with the extra 1gb of ram made a big difference, for myself, over my old, stuttering, rattling-home buttoned, 6+ that was my work phone. I have to shoot lots of video and the OIS makes the 6S+ movies so much nicer than ones from the 6+.

Even though my older 5s was a tick slower than the 6+, it ran smoother. The 6+, though a good phone overall, just never seemed ready baked to justify its exorbitant price.

To each their own. IU haven't found a 6 plus I couldn't get to lag, stutter, and reload safari pages if I did so much as look away from the screen for a second. The 6 Plus is the only iPhone purchase I ever regretted and I still feel like an idiot fo sticking with it for a full year.

At the end of the day, if it works for you, that's great. No sense spending more money upgrading something that you don't need upgraded. I do recommend paying attention to updates in terms of what you may be missing out security-wise. Not worth denying updates in the name of "keeping up performance" at the expense of security, for me anyway.

I can see how the extra weight could throw off the feel and balance of the phone, without making it actually much heavier...

C
I don't see how 20 g would make any difference what so ever, at least not after 5 minutes of using it. Your body gets used to 20 extra grams pretty damn quickly. Sincerely doubt it's an issue for the vast majority of grownups anyway.

Reduced transparency has made a tremendous difference on my 6 Plus. I think it runs great. I keep reduced transparency on all of my devices including the iPad Air 2.

When the iPhone 5 ran iOS7 and iOS8 perfectly with transparency?

6+ has OIS

Use me as a data point, those of you considering "upgrading."

I tried both. I stayed with the 6 Plus. Reasons: weight and absence of features that I found annoying (force touch). Plus, I did not find the 6S Plus appreciably faster for most of what I do on a daily basis, which surprised me. The speed was the thing I was most looking forward to, and I thought it would tempt me to ditch the 6 Plus. The small additional weight of the 6S Plus was just enough to make the device annoyingly and noticeably heavy.

So I bought a new leather case on eBay for my 6 Plus, and I'm loving it more than ever.
I'm in complete agreement.

This is the first year since the original iPhone release that I haven't bought the latest model for my personal enjoyment. However I did buy a total of four iPhone 6S Plus models for various family members

Although I have no budgetary constraints, the reason I decided to keep using my 6 Plus was the lack of a compelling reason to upgrade. Nothing about the 6S appeals. Actually I'm put off by it.

To double check, I borrowed my daughters 6S to use for a few days. That confirmed my suspicions that much like gestures on my 2015 MBP, Apples Force Touch and 3D Touch features are gimmicks that only detract and slow down ones tactile experience.

However it could also be said that these are ideal gimmicks for the Apple Crowd. Wowed by anything Apple can claim as its own, the benefit of these dubious features is their exclusiveness to Apple. It's the Sci-Fi element that delights.

There's also the over exaggerated bashing of last years model (by the faithful themselves) which is labeled as laggy, or worse. Criticisms that were hypocritically denied prior to the new models release.

My real world experience with Apple, both reveals and proves that newer is not always better.

It's all gimmicky until it becomes mainstream and essentially the standard. Similar things were said by various people about all kinds of new things, like on-screen keyboards (vs physical buttons), or multitouch, or all kinds of other things. Sure, not everything goes down the same path, but certainly many things have and do.
