I've mentioned this before on the forums, buying smartphones is more about wanting to and not needing to. Nobody "needs" to spend several hundred on a smartphone. If you have the money and like to buy new tech, why not?

Anything I say to that would sound self-righteous, so I'll just say, whatever floats your boat.

Going to be hilarious when half the people complaining still buy the thing anyways and Apple can't keep up with demand.

The notch is an eyesore, how did the design team allow it to be included? It's a mystery to me

The only rational explanation is that they prioritized brand identity over usability. Same with that hideous red dot in the Apple Watch 3. Today's Apple is all about $$$$$

There are plenty of ongoing threads about the notch itself, not to mention threads about people not getting the iPhone X for any number of reasons. And these threads are all on the first page of the forum. Why not post in one of the ongoing threads, instead of creating your own?

I created new thread because for me it is the notch that's a deal breaker. Everything else from thicker camera bump, lack of Touch ID, etc... is something I can work around.

I don't really see why anyone with a 7 Plus needs to upgrade this year. Notch or not, is your phone lacking to the point when you need to spend $1000 on a replacement?

iPhone 7 plus has no OLED. For me OLED is a huge upgrade and was the primary reason I was considering newer iPhone.

Great idea! It'd be like a support group for those whose lives are so empty that this is what they choose to complain about.

I think it is okay to complaint about a design flaw on a $1000 phone.

Exactly. Lots of alternative options (even iPhones) out there. Personally, I don't have $1000 to blow on this, but the notch would be the least of my worries.

Vote with your wallet!

I probably won't buy it.

It's a very different kind of iPhone to what we're used to seeing and I'd like to try one out. You make it sound like it's an alien thing to do or there's virtually no difference between the devices.

I barely notice the notch in the hands on videos that I have seen. For the most part, I think it looks futuristic. I can see why people complain, but I don't think it will be an issue once you have it in your hands.

The notch bothers me. I still want the phone, but I bothers me. I THINK it will be something that will make much more sense when you see it in person. In normal use your eyes should be drawn to the light of the screen and you shouldnt be distracted.

In pictures and marketing materials, the notch stands on more equal footing with the rest of the phone in terms of how much it stands out.

Fingers crossed.
