I've been getting used to my 6+

You swipe from the left side of the screen to go back, so the top left back button is pretty irrelevant on the 6+

Some apps aren't supporting this properly at the moment, but i expect that to improve.

Try closing a tab in safari.

pretty easy in landscape mode. have you ever used a mini? I'm pretty used to the size the plus is a breeze... even with girl hands
and or reachability works pretty well...

Who uses their phone in landscape mode with one hand?

Also, try accessing a notification that drops down from the top of the screen.

Or accessing Notification Center from the lock screen.

It's easy. Not sure what you're using, because your screenshots in the OP weren't even the same app. As for your "Software is lacking" remark, there's always a delay between a new screen size coming out and apps catching up to take full advantage of it. This happened with the first Retina iPhones and iPads, the jump to the 4" screen of the iPhone 5, and the release of the iPad Mini. Acting like this is somehow unique to the 6 Plus is ignorant of app development/release cycles in relation to hardware updates.

its not a one handed phone what don't you understand by this? didn't read the memo?
And i do laying down or on the couch I've used it one handed in landscape reading safari...
Again i have a iPad mini so I'm used to it...

in portrait mode with one hand.

landscape mode works very poorly for websites such as macrumors forums.

it doesn't work good yet... but thats only when you enable desktop view. it works fine in the other mode.

i can confirm it works good in other mode. But still, it should be working by default and i find this to be a huge minus :apple:

Its not even that big. some of you are so dramatic. I'm coming from a s4 and sure the screen is big but it's not unreasonably manageable. it works great as a phone as well. I'm really happy apple finally bit the bullet and release an iPhone this size. it was the only thing keeping me from going back to iPhones. it's truly an amazing screen. I think a lot of you who don't like the screen size have only been with iPhones and are not used to the larger screens.

Uhh that's an opinion and not a fact. I can use the phone with one hand comfortably and some times I can't. but it's manageable.

I don't understand your concern if the phones were not even meant for you to use. Why are you so upset if they were for your parents?

Returned the 6 plus within 24 hours. I played with it in store and I thought I would be able to use it with one hand. Well, I can, but it's really stretching. It just gets really annoying after a short period of time. 6 is way more comfortable to be used as a phone...well, to me. Obviously, a lot of people are used to using their phones with two hands anyway and love an enormous screen.

I currently have a iPhone 6 64 model and in have been wanting to try a 6 plus because of the extra screen size.

I have big hands, but I am concerned about using it one handed and being able to reach some of the function buttons?

My current 6 model seems be be a nice size and the bigger screen was a huge improvement over my tiny 5s screen.

I just don't want to wait the several weeks to get one and the prices some of these idiots want for them on CL, they are are smoking too much crack!!!

So many of us said this would be the case, that a phablet iPhone was predictably unpractical. And now, that reality is playing out. Again, predictable.

Timmy better get his designers back to work on an iPhone 7 that is light, compact, yet sturdy and can be carried in one's pocket and dropped without shattering like Waterford crystal.

I'd remove the list of other numbers on the left so the entire upper portion is used to display message text.

You can disable the word suggestions from the top line of the keyboard and if you have the phone in "zoom display" rather than standard, you don't get the 6 Plus specific landscape layout in apps as pictured previously.

Should give you a fair bit more space.

B) Using accessibly mode = inconvenient.

Furthermore:

C) Heavy and weight is spread out around the entire device (unlike the 4S) so holding it vertical is also fatiguing on your hand muscles.

D) Landscape mode sucks.

E) Accelerometer is too sensitive. I'd find myself accidentally switching to widescreen mode on the home screen way too often.

Maybe some of the problems you mentioned are resolved by updating to the next iOS version? I can't imagine that this is a constant hardware bug..hopefully... :D

unusable by one hand, too big?

so you haven't seen the note thats been out for 4 years?

my intention was never to get a plus, because i know how big it is because you see notes.... everywhere

i really have to question your intelligence if you bought it and complained it was too big or unusable by one hand.

you couldn't stop by your local retail store and just see the size of the note? people on here are just unreal.

I didn't return any iPhones of any type today. Just wanted to let everyone know because I'm sure they care.

Well guys I finally did it. I had to wait in line for 6 hours but it was completely worth getting rid of those abominations. Why? Because EVERY app places the guide buttons on the top and the button of the screen. And with the 6 Plus it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach the top buttons without

A) Shimming the phone in your hand = inconvenient, carpel tunnel, and high chance of dropping

We were shown this:

and we got this:

Seriously, 25% of the screen is used to display text in landscape. It's basically unusable.

E) Accelerometer is too sensitive. I'd find myself accidentally switching to widescreen mode on the home screen way too often.

For you guys wondering about my specs, I am 6'2 with slightly longer than average aka "piano player" fingers. I'd wager only Shaq and a few other NBA players can hold a 6 Plus comfortably without ANY sacrifices.

Cliff Notes:

Pros: Great battery life, awesome screen [reading], good camera

Cons: Unusable with one-hand; software is lacking.

You want some cheese with that whine? Or maybe a dummy?

If you returned you're phones, why tell us? I don't understand the point of wanted us to know.

Are you going inform us when you're sitting on the crapper playing tetris?
