Only with the black sport band and black classic buckle though. The lack of color-coded crowns and matching bands on the other models would be a dead giveaway.
To be honest, every video I've seen of this kid makes me think he's a bit of a douche, but it's interesting to see the finished product.
Did you get yours back? This video bouncing around looks like this kid got his in and back already (and I assume he is not you because no milanese loop)... so does that mean you have your finished product as well? If so, mind posting a picture??
Looks nice. Similar combo as the 42mm midnight blue Classic Buckle that nobody can get unless you buy the real thing.
I just received this email from Ryan yesterday. Still no gold plated watch.

Agree. Thought it was totally ignorant to think he could get "to the front of the line" or "discounts" for wearing a fake-edition watch. I had to mute him, watch looks good though.
I wouldn't worry, just meet with a jeweler or a pawnshop and they will tell you if its gold or plated.
No need. Just flip over the watch and see if it says 316L STAINLESS STEEL or 18-KARAT GOLD.

It blow my mind that people are seriously doing this. There's no way I would ever void my warranty or possible make something more difficult to resell. And it's not like I'd be fooling anyone into thinking I have the Edition Watch. Plus the thing would look like crap the minute it got any scratches on it. Ridiculous.
I don't think anyone is doing this to try and fool people into thinking it's an Edition.... Myself, I am doing it because I really like the gold look, and this price point is a much more reasonable way to achieve it. If Apple offered a plated version for a few hundred dollars more, I would've bought it through them.
As for the warranty issue, I definitely hear you on that. That's the big thing to consider before doing this. I don't see the resell value being affected... it hasn't even been established that these watches will carry any substantial resale value anyway. I'm personally not too fussed about it, the watches aren't so expensive that would be the end of the world if I had to just buy another one. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but I don't consider it an insurmountable risk in exchange for getting the watch look that I really want.
