BTW, these are the lowest priced iPhones that ATT Mexico is selling TODAY, with and without a plan. The exchange rate is 1USD=18.64MEX

Hence iPhone SE, which will get a bigger OLED screen, a modern chip and other goodies and will still remain affordable.

Japan is not high on that list purely due to the lower population than the US or Europe, otherwise Apple are doing rather well there.
You missed my points.

1. There is a world beyond the USA.

2. Multiple price-points matter outside of America. The devices that Americans believe are old and irrelevant have value outside of the empire.

Maybe unpopular, but I’d like a phone with the body of a 5c with a modern display.
I would go one step further, and ask for a 3G body. I'd settle for 5C though. (Or 4, or 5.)

Just imagine the tech from the phone on the left in the body of the phone on the right. With an edge-to-edge screen it would still have a larger display than the 5C.

The 13 mini is my favorite phone. I’ve switched many times from my 15 PM but the battery of the 13 mini is its downfall.
Not just the iPhone mini 12&13, but the iPad mini gen 6. My iPad gen 9 goes twice as long with the same use.

As old car-guys say, there’s no substitute for cubic inches. In this case, cubic millimeters.

Sticking with my Mini until they make another or it doesn’t get updates anymore. Using a phone one handed is very important to me.

The battery on mine is getting close to 80% capacity so I’ll have it replaced soon.

You never know whats is the main decision to buy one or another as the models has different key features.

This features are ordered by me but all of us has different preferences:

1- cameras
2-battery life
3-screen size
+price

presbyopia comes at 45 and that could means from that age, screen size could be number one feature to choose

Under 25, use the phone as main computer, so larger screen is a must, as well as battery life.
I’m getting close to that age and I still prefer the mini. What did people that age do before the iPhone 6?

My parents were texting with tiny crappy Nokia screens in their mid 50s just fine. I think I’ll be able to handle a mini sized screen for the foreseeable future.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another mini at some point. I keep reading these articles and posts about Gen Z switching over to dumb or minimal phones. I’m not sure how big of a movement this is, probably fairly small at this point.

I’m sure Apple would want to get into this trend if its big enough. The mini is a step toward this, maybe not exactly what these users are looking for though. If anything, a cellular Apple Watch fits this better. If only I can use CarPlay and tethering from it.

I have the 15pro but had the 13mini sitting in a drawer. Decided last night to swap back and try it out. My lord this this is so much better. The only reasons I went with the 15pro were the camera and I swear there’s a defect in the mini where it overheats and drains the battery. I do think the newer iOS has maybe addressed that. I love the lighter weight and smaller form factor. If this thing had the camera of the 15pro I’d have paid whatever for it to be in the mini. I guess I’ll keep the 15Pro around for when I want the camera. Such a shame we can’t get a pro level mini. It was never a price point issue for me. I don’t know anyone that uses that weird fisheye wide lens anyway.
I loved my 13 mini. The compact size was awesome. Recently “upgraded” to a 15 and to be honest, the only thing I really appreciate is the all day battery life. Dynamic Island is also a bonus I was not expecting to be as useful as it is. Outside of that I miss the mini form factor.

Put my 13-mini to the Test this past week (immersion into the high-desert of California (Mojave National Preserve)).

View attachment 2406225

I flew-in to Las Vegas, and got a rental truck . . . 1,300 miles-of-driving, later, I returned it, and flew Home.

Not only did I tax my Mini with the extreme heat (daily tamps out in the desert hovered between 40-43C on the daily), but also with constant use.

I drove-around in an A/C-conditioned truck (clocked over 200mi/day) . . . I had GoogMaps, Gaia, Camera, Messages and CarPlay continually tapping my Mini as the Hub in areas where Signal was often non-existent.

My Mini was (almost) constantly hooked-into the 45W USB-C port in the Toyota Tacoma, yet I finally found that She really struggled to maintain Her previous status as a svelte, perk and performant Unit.

Now that I'm back to Civs, She acts like nothing happened.

Thank you--little iPhone--for fearlessly pulling all that weight, and successfully serving as Focus.

I watched you, Sister,
And we made Peace with ourselves.
Oh, how we did laugh!
I want to believe you but I can't. It's 30C here and my 12 mini is going crazy. It wont even charge due to the temperature.

The whole regular iPhone 12 lot was a battery/thermals flop. iPhone 13 and 13 mini improved quite a bit, yet the battery capacity numbers still speak for themselves:

iPhone 13: 3,240 mAh
iPhone 13 mini: 2,438 mAh

iPhone 12: 2,815 mAh
iPhone 12 mini: 2,227 mAh

For comparison, a standard iPhone 15 (the next closest in size to a mini) has 3,349 mAh. iPhone 16, meanwhile, is rumoured to get a 3,561 mAh battery. A big difference.

My bad! 😳. I just meant smaller than what is currently being rumored for the 16s. Moving up to 6.3 on the smaller phones.

I am not picking on you, I promise, but just to get the facts straight for the others. 😉

For now only 16 Pros are rumoured to get larger screens, with the entry 16 staying at 6.1”, just as iPhones 11-15:

Yeah just the pros. I mean there isn’t gonna be true mini for sure, but at least the SE is smaller than the pros.

I 100% get it’s not the same though. I am not happy about the size increase on the pros either. I usually go max, but it’s getting way too big.

I think people will need to eventually adapt to these changes, just as we did with 3.5” > 4” > 4.7” > 5.5” > 5.8” > 5.4” (minis) > 6.1” > 6.5” > 6.7” and soon to be going into 6.9”.

My wife had been using an SE2. Tried a Mini 13, and then she decided to try the slightly larger 14 Pro. Got a refurb from Apple last week and she likes it.

The camera is really nice, and she doesn't seem to mind the slightly larger form factor.

Maybe so, but the mini/ SEs were a market enough Apple could have combined them. Problem being as tech increases, these small phones can’t hold the internals. Not until things like batteries get small and hold more charge, or camera lenses that I don’t think they will ever get small enough to fit in a mini size.

Everyone wants to say the mini was stopped because I lack of sales, but I truly believe Apple couldn’t fit the internals necessary to advance the mini in that small of a size down the road. They just didn’t see the future in it.
