Umm, how did this thread turn into The Philosophy of I don't Know But Here's What I think.

A rocket carrying a satellite was launched from around the Santa Barbara area that night. No big deal.

Take comfort in knowing that you're not alone in your belief in UFOs...

LAJAS, Puerto Rico (AP) -- People in this sleepy hamlet are so sure they have been receiving other-worldly visitors, they want to build a UFO landing strip to welcome them.

A bright green sign along a lonely country road in southwestern Puerto Rico proudly displays a silhouette of a flying saucer and two words: "Extraterrestrial Route."

Is there any kind of reasoning as to why we believe that extra-terrestrials are smarter than humans?
Ha! We're the Alabama of the universe. No offense to Alabamians, just quoting someone's joke.

Dude, relax. You saw a rocket launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base. I saw it too. Pulled over and watched for about 5 minutes while it went up. Because of those crazy contrails I wasn't even sure it was a successful launch until I got home and did a little digging, but it was a secret military satellite that made a flawless entry into orbit. The lights and trails you saw were frozen, unspent particles of fuel that were reflecting light from the sun.

If you live anywhere near Vandenberg, you shouldn't jump to conclusions about aliens before you check their launch schedule.
