I really should have gone for the 13” model. This is my last time buying an 11” version. It’s too large, for me, to use regularly without a stand/keyboard case at which point the added real estate of the 13” is absolutely a no brainer. I will wait until I replace my MBPro, likely next year, then the iPP will be my sole (serious) portable computing device (iPhone is a necessary evil for me) making the 13” more important…

But back to the point of this thread: I adore the screen, yes indeed!

@kingjames1970 nice! I have that Zf combo as well; never attempted to use it with the iPad. That said, I no longer make money through photography, so don’t pay for Adobe apps (Photomator, Pixelmator, CaptureOne). I’ll have to mull using the iPad more.
Worth noting you can import straight into the Photos app I you want, I just love the Apple Pencil for cleanup and masking in LR (which is so much better than using a mouse or even a Wacom IMHO.)

I love mine and used it daily but sadly work took the ability away for us to work from personal devices so it became a lot less useful. I still use it sitting outside as a sidecar screen or if I'm watching videos on it but I think when it goes I'll hop back down to the 11 inch.

I love my M4 iPad Pro.

It’s my night time, in bed, routine.

I bought the larger size, and wouldn’t go smaller.

I have the Apple Pencil Pro, but have no interest in the keyboard. I have two MacBooks and an iMac for that.

I use it purely as a tablet, which is what is was designed for. I know it can be used as an in between solution, but I just want a tablet.

I have the silver model, with white folio and the Paperlike screen protector.

My most used device.

Wishing everyone well.

I used to have the 12.9” M1 Mini-LED iPad Pro and upgraded to the 11” M4. I notice the difference between mini-LED and OLED which I didn’t expect to. Love my iPad, most used device of mine for sure.

iPad Pro with M2 chip is now progressively becoming my main computer. That’s because it is so versatile. I don’t think about it. I just pick it up and work on my finance workflows all day long. The display is luscious and Apple Pencil works great too. Its one drawback is battery life endurance.

Only thing I’d change is to silver, because the space grey gets too hot outside in the sun. Also, thinking about 13” these last two weeks because I’ve been using it as a TV in for kitchen more and more. 11” is brilliant for reading and browsing though.

Tempted to get a 13” when the new ones come, in addition to this 11”! Just needs better speakers.

13" is a nice size for video - and many other things. My M4 13" has essentially replaced my 13" laptop. I still mainly use a desktop with 4K monitor at home but I don't recall the last time I took my laptop out. 13" Pro is what I'll always stick with.

I’d love them to release a bigger size, though I’m not sure how much i would actually like it. 13 is pretty nice, and about the limit for normal tablet use.

Yeah, I've had larger laptops in the past and I don't think I'd opt in for an iPad larger than 13". I hate to think of what the price would be like, too ...

I remember hanging around here a lot more at launch of the OLED Pro, debating whether it’s worth spending £1000 on an iPad.

I did indeed felt a little guilty at spending so much, but man, what a purchase it’s turned out to be.

I’ve found myself not bothering with the tiny iPhone screen on evenings and weekends. My iPad Pro is used instead.

It’s glorious. The display is so good for video, and I’ve got way more value out of my YouTube Premium subscription, thanks to the OLED Pro.

The lightness is a game-changer too.

So that’s it, I use it every single day. Why did I worry so much about the price point!

In fact, I’m now thinking that when a new model comes out, I might ALSO get the large size (I have the 11”) becuase there’s times where myself and the missus watch a show in the kitchen or in bed, and for those uses
this is how I feel about my Vision Pro, which basically replaced my iPad for many things I used it for

I use Luna display.
Tried it and since upgrading to the Studio Display, it doesnt’t work well. Support couldn’t help. My configuration is Studio Display connected to Mac mini Pro M4. Then the iPad Pro M4 is attached to the mini with a usb-c cable. The iPad Pro stays in the folio Magic Keyboard (stupid name since there is a separate Magic Keyboard). I then use the iPad as an iPad while using its keyboard and trackpad to control both the iPad and mini. When I want to go with the iPad, I unplug the usb-c cable and away I go.

Again, the only issues I have is when the mini goes to sleep since the iPad keyboard isn’t connected to the mini via Bluetooth.

I'm upgrading from my 3year old iPP and passing it on to my husband. it was supposed to be delivered today, but FEDEX hiccuped and put it off until tomorrow. The OLED screen was the main reason for the upgrade. I'm still staying with the 11" as it works out to be the best size for me.

Hi, I got my 13'' iPad Pro last July, loved it since the first day i got it. Im excited for the new ipados update, sounds like a lot of new features will be coming.

I got an 11" Pro, great device.
I really wish I got the 13" nanotexture. I'm hoping they bring nano-texture to the lower end storage options. It's glorious on my MBP 16" m4.

You still use a computer, or going iPad only?

Yes, I needed one faster than it would be delivered with nano-texture, otherwise mine would have it as well. Once I return to the desktop fold the iPad will be my sole travelling computer (no, I don’t consider the iPhone much beyond a weight in my pocket) and I’m debating 13” + mini… talk about gluttony

I will say, not a marked difference in video size between the two due to aspect ratios for video specifically. The 13 advantages are mainly about multitasking.

I was between the iPad Pro M4 11”, and the iPad Air M2 13” to my budget. To my work, I always use the Wi-fi + cellular version, as now I have the M1 iPad Pro 11. I ended up getting the M2 13” and maaan, this thing is way bigger. I’ll need some time to get used to it, but so far I’m enjoying the extra screen. As I don’t watch a lot of movies/series in the iPad, should be fine no OLED for now.

It’s got its own set of problems. It’s certainly nowhere near the ease of just opening a laptop.

But if you can cope with its limitations, which exist on one hand, then the benefits of pure versatility which exist on the other hand can definitely out weigh anything.

I use Jump desktop to remote in, if I’m not taking the Mac with me. That’s great actually, but what would be very much better would be if the mini could be powered by usb, and therefore via a battery pack.

This guy is powering a Mac Mini with a battery-pack, there is a link to it on the YT.

I was looking at the Mac Mini Pro, and considering a portable option with my iPad Pro, but the AVP would be even better... Saw a guy bring his mac mini to a coffee shop and use it with a AVP for a very good full working set-up.

Using the iPad as a sidecar?
Yes, sort of. Via Luna though. But I use the iPad mainly as an iPad, and the Mac as an app on the iPad almost. It’s got several hiccups, and it can be long winded. But if done properly it seems to work well. What it really means is I can use the iPad as a laptop replacement - but still pretty easily have macOS when I need it. I don’t need it much but it’s also crucial to my workflow as a photographer.

Seen a few of these type things. Very cool!
