I wonder how many iPhone 4 users will be dissapoint when they get the 4S.

It's costing me £30 to have a new phone for a year, and to be out of contract, and free to upgrade this time next year, when the iPhone 5 (probably) comes out

The Camera will be bar none the best on any smartphone. I don't think the competition will catch up to the 4S camera any time soon.

Meh, I'm just happy to get a new phone.

My 4 is literally on life support. Home button/ Sleep button are barely responsive, Front screen is cracked, Camera is all blurry, and the speakers dull and soft.

I figured I'll be able to cover most of the costs by selling it on e-bay.

Who could possibly be disappointed with a practically free upgrade to a brand new, better device :)?

Jeez, what are you doing to your poor phone to leave it in such bad shape? I use mine without a case and short of a few nicks and dings to the edges, it's in great shape.

I view this upgrade just as the 3G to 3Gs upgrade. While at first glance there doesn't seem to be much difference, the performance 'under the hood' is significantly better. For me, the improved processor speed was immediately noticeable and worth the upgrade on its own. I suspect this upgrade will feel much the same.

Yeah let's see, who could that be. Maybe the person on ebay who buys an iPhone 4 that is "literally on life support. Home button/ Sleep button are barely responsive, Front screen is cracked, Camera is all blurry, and the speakers dull and soft." And pays you enough to cover most of your investment in the new shiny 4S. I like to see how you describe this wonderment you're going to try to ditch.

I agree and can we get his ebay name so we can tell our friends not to buy his iPhone. :p

I must be bored? Youre the one who just compiled a list of my threads. :D

Anyways my friend, I am just keeping it real. Look at my posts, plenty of good points and productive insight has been provided.

Like I said, I'm trying to keep it real. Don't become blind to brand loyalty.

Yeah I don't see why so many people with the iPhone 4 felt the need to get this. For people like me who don't have an iPhone or a low end barely functional smartphone we're the ones who should be buying. I think they're just ADD riddled and bored.

Real? I would have described your threads with a much different word. But that would get my put in Time-Out again. :p

And I'm not blind. But I am heavily invested in iOS so not prone to looking outside too much either.

You think I'm not going to advertise that when I put in on E-bay? Of course I will.

In mint condition, it's pretty much a $600 device, so selling it for $150-200 isn't really a scam considering it could be fixed for around $200. Most people that buy iPhones that aren't in good condition buy them for the parts anyway...

Another reason to get the iphone 4S is the new bluetooth 4.0 that it will have that the iphone 4 does not.

As I said in this thread, I have a 4s on the way myself and can't wait... this thread is serious in it's intentions, I have used many an iPhone 4 and have many friends with them. But I see people saying "It's like Christmas!" all while using their iPhone 4 right now. When you get down to brass tacks, it just isn't going to live up to that much excitement.

Nothing I said here is to be taken as a slight towards the iPhone, the iOS or Apple. Greatest mobile products on the market, bar none.

I don't know, I generally take care of it. Things went down-hill though after I dropped it on the cement ground when I was trying to drunk-dial my friend from a party, lol! I told myself that when I get my next phone I'm just going to put a bumper on it every time I know I'm going out to drink.

As far as the buttons go, I think it's just wear and tear since I'm always playing with my phone.

Perhaps you are serious. I thought the post was serious based on the subject...until I opened it up and read your first post. It's like you've ignored everything we know about the 4S.

And how can I take you seriously after post like:

Will Siri comfort you as you cry quietly at night from loneliness?

and

Pitching a tent for my iPhone 4S tomorrow. Who else?

I mean, outside of Siri, there won't be any real noticeable difference.

It is not like they are deceiving you on what the differences are. If you want the updated version then buy it. If you don't no one is twisting anyone's arm. I will sell my Verizon 4 on ebay for around $350 and it will end of costing me $350 to $400 to upgrade at no contract prices. To me the Siri, twice the performance and the updated camera are enough to make it worth my while. Also I look at it as assuming the 5 comes out next year around this time I'll be able to get the subsidized price and will make money flipping the next one So I get a new phone every year and I have the 'latest' gadget. I can afford it so why not? I have never been disappointed with any of the Iphones since the beginning. I don't expect to be this time.

Those two threads are for chuckles, to lighten the mood... this forum seems to have a diverse mix of highly stressed, impatient, frankly... if I can use the word, snobs. But with that, many many others who enjoy the discorse, the company, the exchange of thoughts, etc. finding this a source of entertainment, not a source of life blood.

Like I said, keeping it real, trying to provide a little humor instead of constant anxiety.

That said, I can understand how it might be rather easy to misinterpret my attempts.

I bet a bunch of folks with try various "deathgrips" on their 4S's to get signal bar drops and someone will run around screaming "Antennagate ][!"
You can count on it! Maybe Consumer Reports will even come out with a "Not Recommended" for it because it malfunctions if immersed in water, placed in the microwave, or dropped from the top of the Empire State Building!

I was dissapointed when apple announced the 4S. I haven't pre-ordered and am just waiting for iOS5 to release tomorrow. Still waiting for reviews and comparisons between the two phones (and the Nexus Prime) before I decide whether to upgrade to a new phone or if the iPhone 4 will do just fine until next year.

Coming from an iPhone 3GS, I really couldn't care less what iPhone users think. And I think it's a bummer that me and everyone else who's upgrading from an iPhone 3GS have to share the majority of our preorders with people who already have an iPhone 4. It's a shame that some 3GS owners won't get their iPhone 4S on launch day, but a lot of iPhone 4 owners will.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_10 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E600 Safari/6533.18.5)

Umm then you are an idiot to expect more features than what Apple advertised.

Well let's see....

Camera and 1080p video

It looks amazing from what I've seen but I will judge that when I use it for myself. It looks very promising though.

Speed

Looking at the benchmark tests it looks really quick even with the chip underclocked to 800 MHz. Faster than all other mobile phones on the market and a big improvement t on the iPhone 4. I just found out that Vodafone in the uk supports the hsdpa+ in my area so again that will be a nice improvement.

Siri

Looks insanely good. I probably will not use it a massive amount but even at home it's great when I'm multitasking and I don't have time to text etc.

All in all this is a big update. I was skeptical at first but yeah it looks awesome!!

Well, we'll see... but I just can't help but imagine several days after everyone gets their phones they'll find themselves saying "Hmm... I remember doing that with my iPhone4."

And that will be that.

It's like saying: "Many will be disappointed with Apple's sixth-generation iPhone as the only differences will be faster CPU, more RAM, LTE support, bigger display, different design, and that's about it. Other than that, it'll be same as iPhone 4."

Puh-leeez, OP, get real.

I love the nothings really changed crowed, how about we look at what hasn't changed the form, the battery and the screen.

new antenna
new processor
new camera
new memory

It seems to me the more important things actually changed.

Uhh... yeah, it's exactly like that. I mean, none of the differences you mention above are any different from the current generations, so your comparison works flawlessly.

I'm moving from 4 --> 4S hopeful that the antenna will reduce the frequency of "Call Failed". I work from home and have over 1200 hours of talk on my 4 since it came out, and I typically have several calls a week fail -- not good when you hang up on clients.

Even if that remains the same, given the speed improvements, camera, Siri, etc., I still don't think I would be disappointed -- besides, I couldn't handle it if my wife had a newer model.
