I would think Apple would put in the 10th gen intel chips that was just announced with the 45w processors.

Yeah, OSX today doesn't support the Wifi 6 AX module.. i know because I might do a hackintosh on my lenovo thinkpad. Apple is probably waiting until broadcomm or some other vendor does it. if apple is eventually moving to ARM they might do their own wifi / lte chip.

Yeah, the new iPad Pros have WiFi6.

I'm happy with the base model 16". I tried the i9 (with 32 GB RAM and 5500M 8 GB) but it was overkill for my needs and $1000 CAD more expensive after tax.

Would I like an i9 with 32 GB RAM? Sure. The reality is, unless you're pushing heavy workloads on a sustained basis (photo, video, VM, CAD, etc.) you'd be hard-pressed to notice the difference.

Overall yes, but I don't like this cursor/GUI freeze when using the automatic graphics switching option. It's like the system/drivers are not well optimized for use of the iGPU.

Just got mine today! Base i9 with 32GB Ram and the 8GB GPU. So far it's great. I'm coming from a 2012 retina MBP. It's crazy because the footprint is very similar, but I've got an inch more of screen in there. Still migrating my apps from Time Machine, so I haven't set up bootcamp, yet, or done any gaming.

I wish the display had better black levels, and I wish it was quieter under load. That being said, this is definitely the best MacBook Pro I have owned to date, and I have been upgrading every two years since 2005. What do I love most about the 16”? The display size, the ram and graphics options, and the incredible speakers. What do I hate most? The cost.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts when you finally get it. I'm coming from a 13" Mid-2014 MBP as well and have been considering either upping the RAM to 32GB and the faster i9...

Let me know your thoughts when you get it.

Sure thing. It’s arriving next Tuesday-Wednesday. I think the thing I’ll miss the most is the SD card reader, since I have a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone and use it a lot, and I truly hate dongles...

I hate dongles, too...Bit the bullet and got a dock for my desk and drug out an old magic mouse that's been gathering dust for the bluetooth connection when I'm elsewhere. I also grabbed one of the Anywatt USB-C to Magsafe adapters so I can recharge occasionally with the million old bricks I have lying around at home and the office. I recognize that it probably won't charge on some under full load, but I imagine it will trickle charge while asleep, at the very least.

Reading your comments has me psyched. Had a late 2016 15in MBP. Just ordered the 16in a few hours ago.

I am. I got the base i9 model. For my needs and coming off 2013 MBP, I one happy guy. Watched plenty of videos and reviews on youtube prior to pulling the trigger, and what they say is pretty spot on. Go for it!

Same here. Went from 13” mid 2013 to the 16” i9/16 GB/1 TB

The machine is a beast/dream.

I've got a 2015 16/512 and it's solid as a rock, but the fans do go quite a bit (I use an external 4k screen) and I edit large photos from my Nikon D850 and it takes a bit moving around in those photos.
Pondering whether to get the 16" or wait for the summer refresh, and whether to get 32gb of RAM as I have done some work with VMs in the past and could potentially increase.
Certainly looks a great little laptop :)

The problem I see here is even this bad boy will be obsolete when ARM comes out. That’s when I will go from 2015 MacBook Pro to a better one, plus 2019 is not upgradable - you buy what you pay for and Louis Rossman states not to bother.

On the whole yes. Speakers are great and the keyboard is Ok, (came from a 2015 15" - avoided that atrocious one in between).
BUT...........annoyed with the fact that regularly I'm waking up to a completely flat battery. Migrated up from Mojave as this one had Catalina on it, 10.15.4 at the moment), and never had the issue on that. I pretty much always leave it sleeping but with no apps running.

Good afternoon guys. So, I received my MacBook this morning and I can't really express how much I like it. Seriously, what a machine. I feel overwhelmed. I'll try to keep you updated from time to time with a more detailed experience, since some people have asked for it, but as of today I'm in love. Sorry for the lack of detail, but it's what I'm feeling right now :apple:
