I now have 2 completely running and working iBooks.:D But I had to reinstall OSX 10.1 to get them working properly and now I can't connect to the WiFi with my airports in each.Anyone know the reason why???:confused:I also want
Safari, anyone know how too get it on OSX 10.1???

For WPA-PSK to work you need 10.3.9 Panther. On 10.1 I believe it only works with unsecured and i think 40bit WEP I dunno:rolleyes: And safari only works in panther however the earliest version of Camino based on firefox engine would work. I've had troubles with my network and 10.1 Basically on 10.1 theres no option for DHCP with a manual address which is what I use. I don't even think theres that option in Jaguar:(

My blueberry used to do that. Where it would only read 10.2 or earlier. Basically I pulled the ram out and started then put in the ram then started and it worked fine for me then

Fix horizontal scrolling just thought of it,

Since 10.3.9 doesn't support firefox 3 or Safari 4 how about the latest version of Opera, At the bottom it says 100% change it to 60 or 70% then no more horiziontal scrolling

If you cant get MacOS 10.3.9, get up to 10.1.5, and get the "Airport 3.0.4 for 10.1.5". That's as far as you can go. Don't be surprised if the dmg volume is called Airport 2.0.8, it's still v3.0.4.

Even Safari 1.0 needs 10.2 or better as GeekOFComedy already mentioned. Firefox 1.0.7 and Opera 7.54 is the highest for 10.1.5 IIRC.

Probably all academic since you're getting 10.3.9.

I've got lots!!

hello there, I haver a whole loads of Clams and I really love them. I have had every model made. My 466 boots into tiger in less than 2 mins so I think yours must be really slow if it takes 5 mins. I have run Tiger on my Tangerine and Blueberry models and it runs really well. You have to install Tiger on the hard drive externally before you put it into the non firewire models but once in there it runs fine.

i love my clamshell. i upgraded the ram to 576mb. it runs beautifully, i even put photoshop 7 on it. it also dual boots between os 9 and OS X Tiger. I put photoshop on the os 9 partition because thats more native to the clamshell. its a great mac, one of the best ever made.

I use my Graphite every day at home as well as at work. It's the 466Mhz FireWire model, so it has all the bells and whistles. I've upgraded to Tiger, a 120GB hard drive and 576MB of RAM. I regularly run Firefox, Mail, iTunes 8, Photoshop CS and a VNC connection to our Windoze network via Chicken of the VNC and airport. In fact, that's what I'm running right now. It still works great with the old Graphite Base Station. The biggest limitation I have (besides speed) is the 800x600 res I'm stuck with. I really wish that I could see the WHOLE webpage at once. The speed affects video, and GarageBand skips on me quite a bit, but all in all it's a great little machine. I've been thinking about an upgrade, but right now I don't want to make the investment in a newer machine.

That is some serious dedication man. I might be more inclined to use mine if the battery still worked, but its just gotten too slow for me for the most part.

Nice,so it runs well with 10.3.9?I recently got a 10GB apple HD with Tger on it from an another 466Mhz iBook and I stuck it in my Tangerine 300Mhz 288MB ram, and it started upvand boots really fast. It's really weird but cool. Now I know they can run 10.4.11.

Kinda. It only has 128mb total so l8r on i'll purchase more mem but i want to have it functional fully first i.e get this battery business finished

Why not buy a intel mac don't stay in the dark ages. With all those computers you have you could probably grab a macbook (Kind of)

Powermac worth $210
eMac worth at "least" $220 for a collector
And all those iBook clamshells would be worth another $200

So $630 and some of your own cash you could probably buy a end of life macbook or something for a deal
