Any way to open PDF files other than email attachments? I have some huge PDF files, some 300mb+ which are already on my ipad and emailing them doesn't make sense.

I cant seem to get the PDF support to work on either my iPad or iPhone 3Gs. Also you must download the dictionary to the iPhone version of iBooks.
I just downloaded a book that I had purchased on my iPad with the expectation that it would be a free download like when you re-download an app you've already purchased. I did not get the "this will be a free download because you have already purchased this item" message. I am worried that I'll be charged twice. Beware if you are trying the same...
Can someone please tell me how to left justify text in the new iBooks 1.1? It says you change it in the settings, but I can't seem to find it.
Anyone?
Thanks!
On my iMac and MBA, I use Sente 6: it is excellent and much better than OSX Papers, albeit a bit expensive (although graduate students are eligible for discount!).I am a grad student who bought an iPad 3G when it came out and have an iPhone. I'd really like to get textbooks and PDFs (I also have a very fast scanner) on my devices to avoid the paper this Fall. I'm really trying to figure out workflow, and it sounds like you haven't either?
not trying to start an argument, but who wants to read a book on a tiny screen? i can completely understand the idea of the book store on the ipad, but on the touch and iphone.... just doesn't seem logical to squint at a screen for hours.
The most annoying misfeature of iBooks is that it phones home to Apple every time it starts. It even phones home sometimes when you wake the phone up and had iBooks open as that last App.

I mean this is not a news reader that has to be current. I plan to mainly use iBooks on the iPhone to check some reference works in PDF format, what does that have to do with Apples iTunes Servers? Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a way to disable this behaviour (except by protesting to Apple). The scenario I really hate: on vacation abroad, I read an iBook and end up with excessive roaming charges just because iBook could not shut up. Bad!

Well, I think it is a bit of a let-down. I was expecting (like many of you) the ability to do annotations on pdfs, which I think is what Steve said would be available. This is in fact the "killer app" I have been looking for. iAnnotate looks pretty good, but syncing is a pain. Nevertheless, I suppose it is the one for me to buy...
I liked the old icon better. The new one is more saturated.
