Accessing it from iPad brought up a link to Find my Fruends app, but there was no placeholder in the app store

I am now able to log in and use the services.

From the Beta Version the only thing that is different is the log out is now on the right hand side rather than the top middle of the page.

I used the mobile me move tool last night to convert my mobile me to icloud

Went to me.com/move on a windows 7 pc and migrated my mobileme account to icloud without a problem. i'm not a developer either. very easy.

Oh man, so close.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/9A334)

I transition my MobileMe over to iCloud n I'm not a developer!! A word to the wise! BACK UP YOUR CONTACTS! It lost mine n I'm hoping they haven't quite moved over yet.

What I did was installed iOS5 GM on my iPhone 4. Without the need for UDID registration. Then I went to the iCloud setting in settings.app. Entered my regular MobileMe information and it prompted me to go to me.com/move on a PC to "finish" the process. It requires 10.7.2 or the beta windows program. Got thae beta windows client and installed it fine! Transitioned over on me.com/move and it worked!

I thought I was screwed though because it tells you that you now must use iCloud.com and use your "developer account info" I just entered my MobileMe info hoping it would work and it worked like a charm. Except I lost my contacts!!!!

Has anyone with an inactive mobileme account been able to reactivate it yet? If so, how did you do it? I've been trying to log in with the me.com email on iCloud but it asks me to transfer my account from mobileme. It then reroutes me to the me.com site to log in. When I try to log in, I get this message:

"Your MobileMe subscription has ended and can't be renewed. This Apple ID can still be used for other Apple services."

I was told by Apple a while ago that I could reactivate my old email as soon as iCloud debuted. If someone has any luck please explain how you did it.

Where do you go on LION system preferences to sign in? Does Lion need an update since it's not on there yet?

We need to wait for 10.7.2 which should be released later today, Then you should see iCloud next to mobileme in the system pref area.

It let me log in, but I created an account way back in iOS 5 beta 1. Guess I'll play with it some more when I get home to my Mac and away from this Windows machine. :)

No luck on ipad

When I go to the site on my iPad it says register this ipad and then goes to an error couldn't find page. Weird.

Love it, liking the iOS icons. Today it all happens!

Bring on errything :)

It ask me to move my Mobile me account when i logged in. I clicked close as to wait until I get iOS 5

Just download iOS latest dev version or 10.7.2 GM seed from one of many secret places and you will be able to create an iCloud account.

iCloud.com works great for me. I am not a developer but I am running the iOS 5 GM on both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4. I was able to look at my Contacts which I sync using iCloud as well as using Find my iPhone/iPad which both worked fine. I currently don't sync my Calendar or use iWork or have a @me email address so I couldn't check those.

So if I do not own an iPhone or an iPad, I won't be able to register for @me.com e-mail account?

Damn, that sucks. I really wanted one.

Same here, calendar and reminders were synced too.
