Just out of curiosity : what issues are you people having with iCloud Drive ?
The few times I used it ( I'm a long time Dropbox user, and rely mostly on it ) everything was smooth, I haven't noticed anything bad.

It doesn't work like Dropbox does it? I can't drag and drop any file and have it viewable in a folder app. You can only upload files into Apple apps like Numbers that can read that format. It took me 5 mins to figure out Dropbox the first time. I spent a whole night trying to figure iCloud Drive along with Googling for answers, and still don't know exactly how it works. So much for ease of use.

Apple is quickly becoming their "enemy," Google.

I say this because, in the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, I religiously made use of iWork.com for all of my online classes. It was much more simple to upload and then paste a link into the submission form for my assignments than going through the trouble of exporting a pages document as a PDF and then uploading it through Educator/Blackboard. I continued this for 2011-2012 school year, and even used iWeb to construct a blog for my final project in my journalism class (albeit iWeb was already a discontinued product). But just as Google releases unfinished betas, and even finished ones, then yanks them away, I had to go back to keeping a copy for editing and one for uploading.
