Hope they fix the synchronous search problem on Mac. Nothing worse than iMessage beach-balling because you accidentally do an iMessage search.
The main plus for me would be getting 10 years of messages off my phone and into the cloud, loaded only when needed.I don't get this, aren't texts already synced across all your devices already? What does this change?

YES!!! The feature I was most looking forward too!

Embarrassingly late.
WHY do you have 10 years of messages ANYWHERE?
Un-embarrassingly fully baked (presumably).Embarrassingly late.
Sigh. No one is ever happy about anything.
Possibly now the masses can find something out to whine, stamp their feet and hold their breath until they have it their way. I'm going to assume it came late because it wasn't ready and instead of releasing it in a buggy state they held it back.
You can breathe now and move on with your lives.
Wrong forum for logic.
Yes, but if you are already using iCloud Backup on your iOS devices you can actually save a lot of space because your messages are only stored in iCloud once, rather than backed-up from each device separately.
For the thousands time: it's about deleting them. What so hard to understand?I don't get this, aren't texts already synced across all your devices already? What does this change?
Yes and no. It’s one message that gets copied/distributed to each device you own (for example: when you delete a thread on your iPhone your iPad will still show the messages).
Now once you delete a thread/message it *should* push that out to every device and keep everything in sync because they’re now “in the cloud”
I assume that you could set an iPhone up as new, and still get your messages back via iCloud sync. I find, this is often the thing people are worried about the most, when asked to setup as new.Im baffled too. What value does this actually add other than allowing a 3rd party to access your "encrypted" messages stored on iCloud?
Why the hell would you want to keep your messages for ten years? Don't understand this. I delete all my messages daily. The main plus for me would be getting 10 years of messages off my phone and into the cloud, loaded only when needed.

Ok, what's the next topic for the forum to whine and b*tch about?
