I have set it up however it doesn't seem to work on Mac Mail Client? Anyone experiencing the same issue? I don't get to see my custom domain in the Mac Mail Client.
I can get it to work with my Mac client (Monterey beta) but it will not work for me on iPhone or beta.icloud.com .... just checked my iPad and it does not work there either.

it is beta, I suppose.....but Apple generally are a little further along when they test things like this.

I've completed the custom domains setup, can send email from my custom domain, but getting the too many hops error when trying to send email to the custom domain. Did anyone get to the bottom of this issue?

Similar issue here:

Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred Diagnostic code: smtp;554 5.4.0 Error: too many hops

Everything setup able to send - DNS looks good looking at MX etc but appears to be borked - meanwhile emails are going missing hah. Beta's eh!?

Would be good if anyone has managed to resolve

Works for me :p Aldo I do have a test domain for it too see how it works.

Anyone able to set this up with a GoDaddy domain? When trying to finish the setup, it keeps saying “Check your SPF record”

I tried it... still waiting for the verification email after more than 30 minutes
my domain name is on google domains and email forward is configured to send to my iCloud.com email address. Is Apple blocking verification emails that are sent to iCloud.com?
My verification mail came straight away. I am however not getting any further even after updating DNS records, it says "try again in a few minutes".
I'm also guessing that the original email(s) to the domain also get hosted by iCloud and no need to keep existing MX records for those?

Are you really supposed to put quotation marks in the TXT record where it says “points to”?

TXT:
host: [example.com].
points to: "v=spf1 redirect=icloud.com"
TTL: 3600

No success here. Although I get “check your MX Record” instead.
UPDATE: I got it to work with my GoDaddy domain. The trick seemed to be to make sure to add the trailing periods to MX, TXT and CNAME as shown in the Apple document “Set up an existing domain with iCloud Mail.” When this is done correctly, the MX and TXT host fields will change to @
Also, not sure it matters but I deleted the CNAME field with the name ”email”
Hope this helps.

So far, it was really easy to setup with my custom domain. I don't know if it's related though, but I'm experiencing issues with the rest of my iCloud services. For example, FaceTime seems unresponsive, and my Calendar is not sending invites.

Also, does anyone know if Calendar will support custom domains? Meaning, if I want to invite someone to an event from my custom domain account, can I send that invite from name@customdomain.com, or will it only send from my iCloud email address?

No quotation marks inside of the TXT record. It start with a v and ends with an m. (For SPF in this case)

Also dots at the end after the TLD don't matter. Put them there if you can, leave them out if it doesn't accept it.

Have same problem. Can send but cant receive messages. DNS provider is Cloudflare

I can complete the process, but already found a few bugs

1. When you add a new domain and email address(es) associated with the domain, it also adds Aliases for that email in "mail" so that you can select those email addresses as "form". However, if you delete that email address from the domain and add it again, it is not added as an Alias anymore and you cannot send emails from it anymore. So basically, you can add any email only once
2. The first email added to the domain cannot send email. The emails get stuck in "Draft". The second and third email addresses work fine.

I have 3 domains now setup on iCloud but I cannot use my main email IDs to send because of Bug 1

I got the same problem. Won’t let me add email aliases.

an update: if I change my Apple ID to one of the apple ones (I chose iCloud.com) and then tried again and worked as a charm, including send as. I haven’t tried changing back again yet.

2nd update: so you can't have alias e-mails as your Apple ID, meaning you'll have to contend with having your Apple ID as one Apple default ones. This might change later on, but for now that's how it is.

I still can't add family addresses though.
I'd point out that it's much better for security to have an email address you don't actually use anywhere as your Apple ID. I used to get people trying to log into my iCloud account when my username was the email address I typically use for personal stuff, and it all stopped when I just went with my default iCloud address.

Relies heavily on your hostmaster having enabled Apple's/iCloud's name servers. The Danish DK Hostmaster, has not, so I can't change my domain name servers to iClouds instead of one.com that I use now.

I was previously using a 3rd party spam provider who would then in turn send the mail to Google. The MX records were actually set to the spam provider. However, with the new iCloud custom email domain, Apple is forcing me to use their MX records and I can't override this to use my spam provider. I'm curious if anyone else has figured this out or perhaps it will be something they add closer to GA. Thanks!

Yes, it's not possible (and never has been, of course) to use iCloud mail without an @iCloud.com email address.
Correct, that was the only setting I didn’t enable since I logged into my iCloud account with my personal domain. Now I’d like to move to having that email be in the custom domain… looks like creating an iCloud.com email is the only way, boo.

Do you happen to know if emails for the same domain getting filters into one inbox or multiple?

I had problem at first and couldn’t remember the TXT and CNAME records anymore (which were only shown to me via a pop-up; I didn’t received an email or anything else) … so I deleted and added my domain and custom email address in account setting. So far so good … the domain configuration went well, but the problem I’m facing now is that I cannot get the very same email address - which I initially used - to show up in mail. All I can do is setting up another custom email address. Is someone else having the same issue?
