Anyone else getting "There was a problem adding this email address. Try again later." when adding a (third) alias address?

This might be a stupid question, but how do you export the existing emails from your old imap server and import them in to icloud?!

Hiya, I have another question. I own a domain since last couple years xyz.pl and tired to add this yesterday but I got an error: There was a problem with adding this domain. Please try again later.
I bought another domain yesterday xyz.cc and this one was accepted without any problems. Also I have a business with domain .co and also, can add this one without any issues. My question is why I cannot add domain .pl ? is there any restriction or .pl domain is not supported as yet?

I got around this weird import problem by adding both email accounts to outlook, exporting one to PST, and then importing to the iCloud one, just using Outlook as an intermediary. Weird that there isn't an alternative considering Outlook isn't free, and I just happen to have a license for it.

Just copy the folders with any IMAP client. There are also online services for this…

I'm not sure I'd use just any old service for handling my personal emails, was hoping Apple would have an import routine at least for *.pst files, considering that email security is paramount these days....

What's the problem of using Apple Mail? Right click on your IMAP folder on your old provider -> copy -> new IMAP account.

Ok, but it's the same procedure with every other IMAP client (e.g. Thunderbird). I think IMAP copy should also work with Outlook.
Definitely works with Outlook, but I had to connect two accounts that aren't used on a Windows email client to a Windows email client to perform the transfer.

Not long ago when we were buying new phones, we had to plug our old phone in to a computer and back things up to a file, then plug the new phone in and transfer things to the new phone, but then companies built a great service that migrated all that stuff for you; knowing how polished Apple is day-to-day, I thought they'd have considered this.

I have tried to set this up with my custom domain hosted by IONOS, but can’t seem to receive any emails only send.
When I add the CNAME record it says something about only for subdomains and to use redirect for the main domain.
I tried adding in the CNAME address from iCloud as the redirect but still can’t receive emails to my custom domain.

Anyone else using IONOS who can help me out?

A few of the custom domain emails I added and deleted are still showing up in my mail preferences. I can’t find out any way to get rid of them. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Yep - I’ve got this problem too. I logged it in the feedback tool last Thursday, but I’m otherwise a bit stuck…

I had a long support call about this today that’s been escalated to engineering. I’ll post here when I get an update on it.

I'm having a strange problem.

I've got email coming through, and can send, but on both of my Macs, one sunning Big Sur, the other on Monterey Beta, there seems to be no way to add a "From:" name - i.e. my full name. Mail comes through without one at all.

In Mail > Preferences > Accounts, in the Email Address dropdown, it simply lists the email address: "mail@domain.com", not "First Last <mail@domain.com>".

Clicking "Edit Email Addresses" takes me to iCloud.com where I can input a Full Name, but this doesn't seem to have any effect on the Mail.app…?

From the macOS 12 Beta 7 release notes (not sure why it's in there but guess they have no other place):

Doesn't seem to acknowledge my problem of not being able to add an address "abc@mydomain.tld" to a family member's account when it was previously for a short while registered to my own iCloud, but... anyway. Even though these are beta release notes the feature itself is live on icloud.com -- so officially that should mean it's out of beta. Guess I'll contact Apple Support about this at some point if they aren't gonna resolve it.

Hi everyone,
Have anyone already raised the question of the missing “fallback” email address setup - when emails are being send to aliases which weren’t created?

Thats me not gonna work for me - as some family members have domain.com addresses for icloud / itunes accounts.

Ok, so I just got off the phone with a few Apple advisors after almost an hour...and I'm not even sure they understand how to answer this simple question.

I got a discount on the whole Office365 thing a few years ago, and have been using it all along. I used them to create/register my custom domain name via GoDaddy.

I would *think*, based on Apple's help pages, that I can now utilize that domain with my iCloud account, correct?

Additionally...my further question is this - since I set up my custom domain using Office365, do I have to go through any acrobatics (e.g., is there anything weird with Office365 + custom domains), or can I simply set my iCloud account up to use my custom domain, and then cancel Office365?
