This is really rather sad.

And come next product cycle it'll be out of date.

Yeah, because the purpose of this book is to showcase last year's product line...

The major focus of this book *is* OUT OF DATE, as in products that are no longer manufactured. I'll go out on a limb and say the majority of stuff in this book you can't walk into an Apple store and buy.

If I wanted pictures of Apple's current products, I'd visit their website, for free.

And BTW, the Apple Lisa only goes out of date once, and that time has come, so no worries about next product cycle.

$75 for pictures of electronic stuff!?

How's it any different than pictures of animals? Or light houses?

Also, $75 isn't a lot of money. My bar tabs are higher than that.

----------

But is the rest of the book worth $75? I'm just not sure.

Wait until you get a real job, them $75 won't seem to be a mountain of cash. Especially after you get some other oversized coffee table books of 650 images.

So I picked up him being originally Australian just from the sound of his voice.

...and? That is what ears are for.

----------

How about iFanatic? Who in there right mind will pay $75 for a book with pictures of Apple products???

There are coffee table books on any collectable or special interest topic. Toys, animals, golf, etc... They're not intended for every human being on the planet.

Or do you really think people should have the exact same interests as you?

You would think that Shrine of Apple would know what a retina MacBook was and optimize their site for retina. Amateur hour.

Publishing a book =! Coding a website. Different skill sets.

Well everyone is not as rich as you are. To some people $75 is a lot of money. Well to those of us who save money and don't have the highest paying jobs in the world. Not everyone earns $100k+ a year and drives around in flashy cars. One day you'll understand this, or maybe you will not. Time will tell.

Yes and I used them.

You need to calm down seriously. And try to understand someone else's point of view. ie. Not everyone is rich. (yes I know rich is a subjective word).

mmmm, gadget porn

I thought iFixit did gadget pron... Nekud iPhones and all...:eek::eek::eek:

I was surprised to see a picture of Apple Computer's first crack at a server. Put radio controlled wheels on it, and you nearly have a Dalek... :D:eek: Well, almost... I had seen a picture of a larger server though...

Not based on here, just something I have noticed in general. I also agree that seventy five is a good chunk of money or if it's going to be used it better be important. I often think and have seen someone talk about all the things they keep buying every week on twitter, that's all they do and then act like they have stress paying bills. NO, if they can pay their bills that's not stress. Plus they have hundreds of dollars to just blow on things every month.

Almost waiting to here how something happened to their job (of course I don't want it to happen) and now they can't afford their new car, and having nothing saved up because they were too busy blowing their money each week. I'll never based my living costs on a higher paying job that could be lost. I would rather keep it simple with some fun as well, of course we all have a different idea of that. Having a hundred a month for fun can be amazing to some.

The idea of spending money for the sake of spending it is not all that appealing to me. I could make 100K and still not buy random coffee table books because theirs no reason to on a personal level. It really depends what's important to us.

Wow it's almost like a stalker's collection of photos of someone he's obsessed with... I dig my Apple gear but really, it's not my life!

From the way a lot of this forum's threads read, a fair number of us could come up with personailzed versions of this book, just rounding up all our ol' Apple gear lying around someplace, take some photos, add to all the ones we put up to MacR threads for unboxings.. et voila.

Me, I'll settle for having Mactracker on my mobiles if I want to see stuff about gear I never had or gave away.
