Vermont & West Virginia is surprising. The other states not so surprising considering they are less populated than the other states in the US. Slowly but surely I guess!

There are no cities in Vermont, according to the government. I think of Barre and Montpelier as cities, after all, they have almost 10,000 people in them. Even Burlington with about 39,000 people doesn't count as a city by official government standards. This is why Vermont, state with no cities, is considered the "Most Rural State" by government standards.

We have higher populations of dogs, cows and sheep than people.
Even the deer out number us. :)

C'mon Apple.. give WV an Apple store. I don't like having to drive two hours to Columbus or Cincy for an Apple store. Put one in Huntington or Charleston!!

Good for Idaho. It's time they get an Apple Store. Hopefully Apple will expand on the West Coast (not including the states that already have plenty of stores). Aside from the major cities, I hear Washington does not have many stores.

Little Rock wants an Apple store too!

We almost got one, they even had job posting announced....and then they backed out when the economy tanked.....

I cannot believe Apple delayed/postponed the Little Rock store (for whatever reason). It was announced as the FIRST store in the three state area of Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas nearly three years ago, yet it has yet to open (New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Jackson, MS have since opened).

While I understand LR isn't the focal point of the universe, it is certainly larger and more affluent than many markets Apple is already in...

Huh? You might want to check your data on Vermont. All of the states listed have much larger cities then Vermont.

All you Apple Store haters just don't get it. This is indeed a wonderful day. No more dealing with MacLife!!

I'm sad to say I bought my very first mac (1GHZ TiBook) from MacLife, but I never went back. Since then I've bought all my Macs from CompUSA, or more recently Best Buy. Even went to a Portland, OR Store for my PowerMAC G5 back in '05.

MacLife is a truly horrible experience. Both service and sales are absolutely, completely, 100% atrocious.

I remember when the Shuffle first came out. I went to MacLife to pick one up, but they had jacked the price up 20% and justified it by saying it was because they were so hard to find. I wasn't about to pay more, so I went straight to CompUSA and they had an entire display of them for regular retail price. I bought two. :)

See ya, MacLife. It's too bad that they spent so much money on the new store downtown. I predict it will be closed within the year.

This has been a long wait, no doubt.... Finally an Apple store coming to fruition though!:D

Great news for all of Idaho, and the Treasure Valley especially!:) Finally have the option of visiting an Apple retail store without the 350+ mile drive and inflated prices!

I can't believe they're just now getting one. We've got 3 Apple Stores within 5 miles on Oahu. Could be a lot worse though... From the neighbor islands, you'd have to fly over here to get to an Apple Store.

Hey neighbor! I live in Moscow, and didn't know until recently that the UI Bookstore offered repairs (Apple doesn't list them online or even have them in their system when calling AppleCare).

I haven't used them yet, but its nice to know there's something closer than 6 hours away.

Hey! mee too, I'm hanging around moscow trying to figure out the next ten years or so. I'm stoked since i've been thinking about moving to Boise, northern idaho is cool and all but Boise is better.:)

That would be so nice!!!!

It makes sense. In the Ashland/Huntington/Charleston area there are hundreds of thousands of people.. and no Apple store. Put it between Huntington and Charleston and it's within 30-45 minutes to all of those people. Just because we're supposed to be dumb hicks doesn't mean we don't like technology. lol.

If they offered to sell guns in the Apple store they probably would have gotten one earlier in Spokane/Coeur D'Alene (tongue in cheek)
Spo-tucky had an independent All Apple products retail store that failed a few years ago.. Don't know why.

The iGun is fully semi-automatic and made from aluminum, very light and stylish. It costs $5845. and shoots 43.56 caliber bullets that cost $5. each and are available only from Apple. It comes in a handsome presentation box.

The Apple Store also stock stylish holsters for only $399.

The owner must take the gun to Apple for cleaning and maintenance as it cannot be taken apart without special tools, and to maintain the one-year warranty. Note that the warranty does not cover damage caused by actually shooting the gun.

Available to minors only in blue states.

The quote should have gone like this:

Far away and left out. That's the way Copenhagen residents have felt for nine years without an Apple retail store. Now their laments will end with confirmation of a future store in the middle of Copenhagen city, Denmark. It will be the first store in Copenhagen, whose residents have had to jump on a plane to one of the other countries that have already received an Apple store.

...ohhhh I wish.

Come to Coeur d'Alene!

Forget Boise! Let's put one up in Coeur d'Alene (/Spokane) in North Idaho :p we have nothing up here! The closest Apple store is Portland followed by Seattle...

We need you up here Apple! The closest Apple Store is 6 hours away in Seattle! Come to Spokane if you want, but I know probably 100+ people that would buy Macs if they had a dedicated store to go to! If each of those people each bought the most inexpensive MacBook, you would make $100,000! WE NEED YOU!!!

Alaska Apple store

Someone really needs to talk to Apple about opening up a store in Alaska. They should talk to Coach, who when they opened up, the store become the number one selling shop in the chain... even outselling their store on Rodeo Drive! They should talk to Target... same thing happened. Speak with Dairy Queen... ditto. I could go on and on about how surprised managers are about customers buying power up here and how it happens to every single store that opens up here.

What is the population of Coeur d'Alene?

2008 2000 1990
Population 43,360 34,514 24,563

In 1971 when I was last there, it was more of a small town. It's really grown since then. Maybe it could support an Apple store now, but maybe not. We have towns larger than this with no Apple store within 50 miles.

Does the UPS truck come through Coeur d'Alene?
