I would be happy with 8.1 if if there were no new features and instead they fixed all the bugs and spent a lot of time optimising. Obviously some of the 'bug' fixes may introduce new features as solutions to usability issues etc.

For 9, I would be happy with a small set of new features. Stop trying to create a media event every year. Just slowly keep making it better and better.

-Selective "send message read receipt." So let's say I can choose to let certain people (such as my family) know when I read their message, but not everybody else.

I was just thinking about this the other day. The gf likes to have my read receipts on so she knows when I'm ignoring her (lol), but having them turned on for my buddies makes me look kinda attention seeking.

Please get rid of that double tap the home button to shrink apps, and change it to double tap to go home. I hate pressing the mechanical button every time.

Well great you're actually wrong. Those features are all in iPhoto and they work very well. You've missed the point! THEY'RE NOT BLOODY THERE NOW, and Apple won't let me run the app I BOUGHT with my own money which does have those features. Transferring your iPhoto library to Photos causes loss of 50 percent of functionality. Terrible Terrible and unfair decision.

Well no, I'm not 'wrong'. The fact you're resorting to foul language means you're an unreasonable person who isn't worth talking with.

iPhoto will not become functional on iOS 8 or 9. It will go away on the Mac too. The features will be migrated. Stop hoping for things that Apple won't be doing. Suggest features for them to implement into Photos instead. It's actually constructive.

iPhoto has been free for users for yonks.

I didn't use 'foul' language. Bloody is not foul (Well at least not in Australia)

iPhoto has only been free for new users since last October. I paid for iPhoto and thus it should continue to function as I paid for it, and Photos is missing half the features I bought iPhoto for. Simply unacceptable.

There is no reason that iPhoto can't be allowed to run on iOS 8 it is just Apple being completely unreasonable. Why shouldn't I be allowed to access things I created in iPhoto? I put a lot of time and effort into my iPhoto journals.

And you were wrong, as iPhoto for the iPad was a very functional, usable and useful app for many, including myself. I'm sure as hell not leaving iPhoto on the Mac, especially if Apple does yet another one of its half baked software solutions like this one. EG remove 50 percent of the useful features, force an upgrade and call it progress. Again there is NO reason that I shouldn't be able to run an App I forked out my good money to buy.

I'd love to know if you'd be pleased if Apple removed your favourite App, prevented you from using it, provided a replacement that included none of the features you needed for your workflow and thought it was progress.

I agree with the other people who also hope to see this is a future iOS release:

- iCloud Drive app

- control center customization - e.g. a button for turning off cellular data in the control center would be handy

- improved mail attachments (other then photo/video) in 'Mail app' using iCloud drive/Dropbox and others whereas you could attach more than two files in one email. I'm now only able to attach other attachments via Mailbox app (not Mail app) together with Dropbox.

- File Explorer, see also this article

- ability to hide stock applications

- Siri button on 3rd party keyboards

- allow split keyboards from 3rd party keyboards (swype) on iPads/ large iPhones (6 Plus)

- choose WIFI/3G/4G prioritizer/order if multiple WIFI connections can be made in a certain location (e.g. 1. WIFI home connection 2. free WIFI hotspot provider e.g UPC 3. Vodafone 3G/4G. I know have sometimes that when i go home i still got a Free Wifispot connection from UPC although i want to be connnected at home via my own 'safer and quicker' WIFI connection. Android has this app. I wish iOS8.1 will have something like that implemented.

- close all open apps (swype away all instead of max 3 apps) - double tap the home button.

- Bring camera roll back or at least make it an option to view all photos in previous grid format.

- Allow attachments of multiple documents from Dropbox, etc.

- Provide visual notifications of selected types (mail, messages, Skype) in status bar across top. OpenNotifier (JB) does this very well.

- Ability to search selected folders within mail (sent, etc.) vs whole mail account.
