He must be at the Keynote if he is the CEO. I also hope that he is the main speaker.

Without Jobs, Apple would not exist. I hope he continues to be the CEO for a long time, and not end up like Bill Gates.

For a good roundup of SJ's keynotes:

http://blogs.pcworld.com/techlog/archives/003627.html

He is surely the best presenter on Earth, no doubt about it. Check his keynote on the G4 Cube...what an awesome moment of RDF..!

But I really hope he's had some time to recover from his latest ailments, gain some weight and come back in full force, hopefully with a jacket and no tie as was the case with his earlier keynotes at Apple post-'97...GO APPLE!

how can 10 people rate this article as negative? steve is an awesome public speaker! if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have wouldnt have Apple and we would all be using window$!

Steve's keynote high water mark was - hands down - the initial iPhone announcement. He was practically in tears; thanking friends, family... he was uncharacteristically sentimental. Very much felt like he knew it was his last (if not his most important). Was bizarre...

And while I think there are more Stevenotes ahead, none will come close to surpassing that epic iPhone keynote.

Well if Steve were not going to present the keynote, it would make the most sense to delay that message as long as possible to not have more companies pull out of the show and also get as many people as they can to sign up to attend the show. I don't doubt that if they announced that either Jobs would not present, or that Apple would not present at the keynote (the former seeming more likely every day to me, the latter seeming like a long shot) that attendee numbers would be way down. I don't envy Paul Kent his job. He does an awesome job of putting on the show every year. I just hope Apple decides to announce that Steve will be there and does that soon. I will be there again for another of many MW Expo's and keynotes. It would just not be the same without Steve there to give the speech.

Finder^ Spotlight fixed?

Finder and Spotlight fixed? After how many Feedback requests I have sent? These two alone are an embarrassment for their bugs and lack of consistency. My only hope is that Snow Leopard will fix what is wrong rather than add something else that does not work properly. </:apple:>

Time for an If/Then flowchart.

If: Steve Jobs=Alive//://Then: no xMac. Ever.

I see no bugs in that code. I would, however, give it a REPEAT and make xMac a variable that accesses a DIM file full of nixed products and software fixes.

MacsRgr8 - That will begin our DIM file. :)

No Mac OS X on generic PC hardware
No RETURN to begin Spotlight search
No default for Spotlight to search current folder
No tablet Mac
No mid-tower
No Pro-sumer hardware or software
No Blu-Ray support

After all, I didn't just pay $200+ to Macworld Expo to see the keynote. It would be very disappointing to a lot of folks, and a very lackluster expo.

Really looking forward to a new Stevenote. His presentation flow/technique/style alone is simply world-class.
This time the speech will be stuffed with brand new hardware, significant updates to excisting lines and lots of great news. Steve + Actual content = Killer combo. Can't wait.

Nah. This year Steve will give his "Johnny Appleseed" keynote. :apple:

No major product announcements but a lot of "seeds" planted of some really, really cool products that should be coming out in time when the economy shows signs of recovery and people start buying again.

How true. This is one thing Steve should give into. Mac Pro sales would not hurt that much, they would definitely tap into the market of people seeking out Hackintoshes.

New Integrated AppleTV/LCD

My hopes are pinned on that rumored AppleTV/LCD. I'd love an all in one solution. Come on Steve, give me a post Xmas present!

Hackintosh's are the main reason that Apple should come out with a netbook or a cheap tablet. By looking at all of the comments, it looks like people don't think that Apple will do this. Why not?

... How does this make sense at all? The Hackintosh community is a group of xMac fanboys. Having a tiny, worthless laptop or a kick-awesome MacTablet is a completely different market.

This is not good..

Little to know news...
Updates done early in the year (new macbooks/pros in October, new ipod in September)....
vendors pulling out.....

Either this economy is hitting worse, Steve not well (which we know there has been a lot of false speculations this year)..

or the fact they released they are not going to try to dispell leaks and rumors, they tightened ship and there is a big surprise planned.

dunno - but no news lead to too much rumors and worries.

Please don't let it be anything bad. I just switched my entire platform, and my employer is starting to embrace macs. I am one of the testers with the initial roll out.

Jobs announces a revamping of all computer lines into sleek wafer thin objet d'art. No cpu, no drives, no display, no i/o. Just a thin sheet of metal with the apple logo.

Fanboi's go wild and lash back at content artists complaints saying, "no ones stopping you from buying a refurbish."

Yup, apple is waiting till their biggest event of the year to release bad news....

I'm getting really sick of all the speculation, not just on here, but everywhere in life.

I'm amazed that people can lose billions of dollars because some jackass thinks product x isnt as stellar as it could be, meaning a corporation is about to die.....

yes im just ranting.

Taking into account the lack of rumors in the mill lately, it seems like Apple is trying to keep a pretty tight ship after the leaks we've had in the past year (unibody notebook enclosure, iPod nano 4G, etc).

If: Steve Jobs=Alive//://Then: No notebook under 13.3" Ever.

if you want that get a time machine

If: Steve Jobs=Alive//://Then: no blu-ray Ever.

I have a feeling they will start weeding out optical drives period in the next yr or two

If: Steve Jobs=Alive//://Then: no larger iPhone/TouchEver.

It has already been proven possible that you can display something other then video and photos on an external screen with the touch/iphone. As soon as it is made official there will be 3rd party attachments like the RedFly
