I believe that would require him to not visit these forums ever again, as EVERY thread is nothing but nitpicking people who are actually looking for things wrong with their phone.

I haven't received my iPhone 4 yet, but as long as the proximity sensor isn't a dud I will never return it.....It's a phone....made by humans....not gods.

As you don't have your phone and aren't experiencing issues - I'm sorry you find your experience reading these forums annoying. People have legitimate issues. Not everyone - but enough.

EVERYONE has a choice to read or not to read. Blame the poster all you want. But no one has a gun to your head forcing you to read OR reply.

I've got no reception issues, and completely love the phone, but yes I'd likely return it. If for no other reason than for resale value down the road.

Yes, because it definitely has issues.

I want my phone fixed! So, Apple can work their magic on it. But it depends on how long the wait is, one month, then hell no!

Yeah, yeah, choice isn't something I just recently discovered. I don't mind all the threads to be honest, gives me something to laugh at. It's just that the nitpicking is getting more and more trivial. Saw a guy talking about his home button wiggling "just a little" yesterday.

Well let me pose this to you and anyone who is annoyed at the recent threads. What should people be talking about? What conversations would you like to engage in? Why aren't those threads being posted/created? There's nothing stopping ANYONE from posting questions or information as ALWAYS. Obviously people are INTERESTED in the current events. This shouldn't be surprising nor should it really annoy anyone. Again - if there were other subjects that were of interest - they'd be posted, no? Is anyone NOT posting other information and queries because of iPhone 4 Antennagate?

I would return mine, but only because I still have my 3gs. If I didn't, I wouldn't return it. The signal dropping is a non issue where I live.

Why would you return it, then?

There are some truly strange people around - returning a fully working phone to save resale value, or get a new battery? That Centient, and others, can't see they effectively pay for their actions in the increased margins placed on their future purchases, is incredible. Ironically, they'll likely be the first on this board complaining about the price of new Apple products.

Muppets. Just... muppets.

I don't really have a major issue where I am because I am in a strong signal area. However, I can replicate the issue to drop bars. Plus I use the bumper anyways. However, if there is a recall, I would probably wait until things have settled down and head up to a store and exchange it, depends how painless it is, and with Apple, its normally extremely painless.

why would you not... hahah theyre basically giving you a fix for your phone. and you know how apple does it. they make exchanges a breeze. well from past experiences they just send you a replacement. they give you a shipping box and the stamp and you send it back.

These thread are annoying me, people keep saying they don't have or do have problems. There is a signal issue all iPhone 4's are affected, depending on where u live, the frequency of the cell tower, the way you hold the phone, and much more factors affect the signal. If u live in an area where the signal is good then you "won't" have a problem, for thoes that don't have the problem apple atmited that the algorithm that they used to calculate the #of bars shown was wrong. So apple said that thoes that were displaying full bars don't really have full bars. This coupled with the fact that AT&T has a now messed up network that is crippling the download and upload speeds just makes the signal proem more apparent. Appple says they are fixing the algorithm, and AT&T says they are fixing the network. This is all one big mess this y everyone is saying there will be a recall, I don't think they will do it but a recall is appropriate.

Can't really answer with the options available.

I really doubt there would be a recall, but if there was one it would depend on the conditions whether or not I turned my phone in.

Why would you ever vote no?

You bring in your phone that potentially has problems for a brand new unit that definitely doesn't have any problems.

You'd have to be a total idiot not to.

Apparently about 30% of you are total idiots.

P.S. Sometimes recalls are not optional (although I doubt the iPhone would warrant it).

I would, but not right away. Using a case has solved my antenna issues and I don't have any of the other issues. So I would probably wait for the mad rush to end, and then get it replaced.

Which would be very wise of you. Future batches can only contain improvements to whatever fix Apple manages to come up with. :)

My thoughts too. I have zero issues with my phone. I can't even make the bars drop covering all corners with a death grip, while inside the house. The phone has better reception, and "call holding" capability than any I have owned. Still, I'd return\exchange it if they did a full recall. No, I would not return it and wait for another, but as far as an exchange? Yeah, why not?

Heh...yeah, pre-order and pick-up days were bad enough, I don't really need to ever see that kind of idiocy again. A case fixed it and while I'm not going to accept a flawed phone for that kind of money and a two year contract with arguably the worst carrier in the country, it's not such a huge deal that I can't do it via mail or after the foaming-at-the-mouth types have left.

It depends on the fix. There are frequently trade offs in antenna design. The iPhone 4 has excellent reception most of the time. The signal is sub-par only under specific circumstances. Connectivity and proximity to your hand are both at play in the design. The fact is some solutions could harm the optimal case reception, while improving the death-grip reception. I use a case anyway, so I would not want a "fix" that would ultimately result in reduced reception.

This makes little sense considering that recalled vehicles don't lose their value as long as there's a fix, and cars get recalled all the time. The value will go right back up to where it should be once a fix emerges, and yes, there will be a fix, whether it's a software update or Apple initiates a swapping program for the affected units. No need to return it prematurely.
