I can see them going to 4.5-4.7 inch screen without making a huge phone (with the help of minimized bezels)

Keep in mind the next iphone to come out will need to be a proper size as it will be around for 2 years.

To me the 5/5s/5c is a nice size, but would definitely like something a bit wider (and while were at it a better quality screen!)

Apple used a 3.5 inch screen for five generations (OG, 3G, 3Gs, 4, and 4s) before they made a change. Don't be so quick to assume they will increase the size again after just two (5 and 5s) just because you think the market craves it.

Yes but they change the screen almost every 2 years, OG, 3G, 3GS is all the same, the 4, and 4S both have retina, 5, 5S has 4 inch screen.

You gotta remember though that back in the day 3.5 inch was high, Android wasn't even released yet and other brands had nothing over 4 inch themselves.

why change the screen on the OG, 3G or 3GS when even the competition had nothing bigger?

To be fair it wasn't until the 4S that they started to limp on screen size, but with Androids and Windows Phones making the 4.7 to 5inch and higher jump in the last 2 years they need to up the screen size on the 6.
They should have done it on the 5S , but being a S model you can't really change the design based on the 5 so they had to stick with it.
