I really hope we see some hardware leaks on this device.

I’m very curious about the keyboard.

I really really hope they are going to course correct here and truly fix things, but I’m super skeptical that the “Apple of today” is humble enough to actually do that.

Just thought I would let you guys know that I just received an email here in Aus that there is a 15% off some macbookpros [basically the higher end 15 + 13”] plus some other models.

It is interesting they didnt have the new low end 13” on sale, which could suggest a new upgrade coming.

I will note they always have 10% off sales, but 15% is very rare. May be clearance of stock maybe just a sale.

also 20% of surface laptops.

i always find it is best to have little expectations these days with Apple, then you wont be disappointed.

Oh yeah this are personal expectations for myself.. That would actually bump me up to buy it on release day.. But as always I'll wait for reviews.

My 13" 2017 just cannot handle more suffering from the dual Virtual Machines I use... Memory pressure at 85% man lol..

I think that Apple will discontinue the 15 inch model later on, in favor for the new 16 inch.
Therefore I think that the 16 inch model, if released this fall, will be available with the same configurations as the 15 inch models, but with an increased price tag of ~$500. That makes sense for Apple's business plan, because when they discontinue the 15 inch models, the entry large screen Pro model will be $500 more expensive then before. It is also possible that they continue to sell the old 2019 15 inch base model for premium price as they did with the 2015 Macbook Pro.

This is what makes sense... I do hope they don't increase the base model to 3k.

My max for a base model is 2.5k the current 15 inch.

I've long suspected that this will be the same situation as the first Retina - no base model at all (that comes in six months). They'll release a single configuration either comparable to the $2799 model or even higher (something like 1 TB of drive or 32 GB of RAM standard), for a decent price by the standards of current MBPs, but it'll be over $3000 to start.

CTO will be available, but up only - you can't drop down to a 6-core processor, a smaller SSD or 16 GB of RAM (if 32 are standard).

It'll be a $3000-$3500 "base", but a similarly configured 15" would be the same price or only a few hundred dollars cheaper. There may be a "bonus" standard feature - probably a better GPU - that's not available on the 15". There may also be an upgraded GPU or a 64 GB RAM upgrade that are only available on the 16".

6 months from now, we'll see a more complete 16" lineup as the 15" goes away.

Well... As long as they give me a 256Gb option it's fine. I don't need 500GB since I have external SSDs/Cards for whatever else

If they do a high-end only release, there won't be a 256 GB option - it'll start at either 512 GB or 1 TB...

I mean sure I'm always up for more lol.. But don't go skyrocketing base prices to 3k lol

there are 2 ways this can go :

1. an upgrade in screen & keyboard but otherwise the same as the current 15"
2. a high spec computer just like the Mac Pro, which has a gulf between it and the lower end machines.

Given the hints of the more powerful charger I am now leaning towards no. 2 [I thought it would be 1.].
We all know what that means in $ terms.......

My money is on an October launch of a true Pro Macbookpro to sit alongside their true pro Mac. Bankruptcy here we come :)
