Stop assuming to know Steve or what he would have done. For all we know, he could have gone crazy and driven Apple into the ground and we wouldn't even be getting iPhones anymore. I guess at least then we could stop making threads about ~the notch~.
People tend to glorify the dead and overlook their flaws and imperfections.
What's your point?
It's a crap idea on the 6 (which also has it) and all following iphones as well.
Apple often make stupid decisions lately. This blind need to defend their screw-ups will only lead to further screw ups. If a company really makes bad decisions we need to let them know its not good enough.
As to "if steve was alive", i think it's relevant. The current leadership seem to hold Steve with such reverence and dedicate stuff to him, etc. but they're really screwing with his vision in my opinion.
The current designs would have never passed final QA (i.e., Steve himself) when he was still running the show. Steve just didn't tolerate crap.
We knew him from his keynotes, books, movies, and interviews. That is sort of like knowing Steve Jobs.
Jobs also chose ignore his doctors and go for a homeopathic remedy when his cancer came back and died as a result of it... and told the customers "you're holding it wrong" when there was a design issue with the iPhone 4.With Steve Jobs paying so much attention asthetics, no way would he have allowed the iPhone X to have that huge camera system covering the top part and ruining the looks of the iPhone X.
Most of Jobs his patents were about the looks and feels of his products, so yeah ....
I think I wil wait for the 2nd generation where they hopefully will make it look better.
Your boy Steve refused to go with bigger screen, while every other company was coming out with phones with larger screens.
And what did Steve say? "Nobody is going to buy an iPhone with larger screen". There was even a picture from apple how a small screen is perfect to be used with a thumb.
People wanted iPhone with larger screen. At the end of the day, people bought small screen iPhones and loved it. So much for so called innovation from Steve.

I wasn't a big follower of Steve Jobs, but I would hope he didn't do the rounds with morning TV like Tim Cook is.....cringy.
Main gripe wasn't with Cook btw. The cringe is more from the TV show & their cliché hosts. Apple doesn't need their gushing to sell products, but as you say, Tim has his style..respect for that. They definitely have different attributes between each other. But I have a lot of respect for Tim Cook and his composure with Apple. I know many appreciated Steve Jobs and his visionary status, but both Cook and Jobs are different, which there is nothing wrong with that.
This funny ....Steve Jobs is dead. Please let him RIP
You know what?
After having had an iphone 6, 6 plus and 7, i miss the usability of my 4s.
the fact that apple has been doing their best to make the 4s size unusable via iOS ui change in order to force people into larger more expensive handsets doesn’t mean steve was wrong in that there were advantages to the smaller form factor you could use with one hand.
Size of a device is nothing to do with “innovation”. That’s just a scaling factor.
Innovation is doing new things with hardware and software, finding new ways of making use of technology.
You're talking about the guy who held an on stage funeral for Mac OS 9. Haha. When Steve died I didn’t think Apple would change much. This is the year that I can say that without a doubt I was wrong. If he were alive today we definitely wouldn’t have seen a notch on the X or a talking poo emoji during the keynote. Steve knew how to keep those clowns in line.
