Really Lee? ;)

Granted, not the prettiest car in the world to start with but the soft top version makes children scream "MUMMY I'M FRIGHTENED WHAT IS THE BAD THING!?"

I like the Cruiser convertible actually.

Car nuts.

Just keep repeating to yourself over and over, "A car is not an extension of my manhood. A car is not an extension of my manhood. A car is not...."

Oh BS. Yes, it is. :)

Hey- I don't like cars with hard tops. I will never own a hard top car (unless it's one that folds up and goes in the trunk. :))

Fair play mate. I do agree that a lot of cars look great as convertibles, in fact my last car was an MX5 (Miata in the US) and that was a great little car. Not the most masculine of cars I know, but then i'm comfortable in my sexuality so I don't give a crap :)

I do actually secretly lust after an old 66/67 Mustang Convertible. Nearly bought one once but then I remembered that it's £5 a gallon over here and thought better of it.

Which generation did you have? That third gen MX-5 is a tempting little bad-boy. :) (And it's an instant sign of poseur to dismiss the MX-5 as girly... it's always been well respected in racing and enthusiast circles).

Hey man- I like Miatas.

camero convertible >... image a lot of >'s ... > challenger convertible

They're both nice. But I've always been partial to Dodge/Chrysler. They've been really good cars for me in the past. Plus, I LOVE the look of the Challenger more. I could resist the Camaro convertible, but not a Challenger convertible. I'm not that strong. :)

Oh hell no. Car and Driver did a few mock ups of a Dodge Challenger convertible. If Dodge does this, I will buy this car. I will never drive it. It will sit in my garage and be rubbed with a diaper. :)

Lee, is the second picture their three wheeler convertible version?

That would be a cool car, but I have always been a Mustang kind of guy. I don't have a mullet for a Camaro and I have never cared much for Chrysler products. The 5.0L is back for 2011 (although a new 32V DOHC design) and it is making 400HP. That is 80 HP per liter. I also like the fact that the Mustang is smaller and lighter. The Challenger and Camaro are pretty big cars to be considered a pony car. The Mustang has been built continuously for 47 years and there is a reason for that. It is a car you can live with as a daily driver, but still have fun with when your in the mood to tear things up.

I wish I was alive during the emergence of muscle cars. I would have loved to see a brand new 69 camaro roll down the street. *drool*
My boyfriend in high school (1984) had a '67 Firebird that he would drag race. It was funny though. He never could keep starters on that car, and I always ended up having to push it when we were out on dates. Good times; well, that part was anyway.

I was walking today, listening to music, and Paradise by the Dashboard Lights came on. I thought of Lee and his hots for the Challenger. Is that weird?:D

I like those too. But the Challenger just knocks my socks off.

Nah- keep thinking of me. :)

Lee, Lee, Lee...

What you need is already out there but in the FAR more collectible 'cuda format:

mr-norm-hemi-cuda-side.jpg

The Mr. Norm name is to the Chrysler vehicle family what Shelby is to Ford: they take a standard muscle car design and make it even better. The latest creation of come from the Florida-based tuner is based on the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 and brings the classic Plymouth Barracuda back to life in a jaw-dropping convertible model. Oh yeah, the car also comes packed with a near-ridiculous 725 horsepower squeezed out of a supercharged 426 cubic inch hemi V8.

BTW, Mopar ftw!

They sure are pretty and they have a degree of that retro style but I am holding out for a Chrysler Newport that old 70's model bastard with the dark blue paint and white vynil top bastard my pop had looked like a killer whale sliding around on its back. Decent 440 engine and power everything all 3 mpg of it.:D

another nice one though from the bygone era was the challenger with the slant 6 sure it wasn't an 8 cylinder but it was a gem I wouldn't mind them putting the slant back in another machine.

Or if you want to go to Chevy I say bring back the old rock crusher stick shift tranny.
