Your question is a week premature. I don't know enough about it to make any decisions. I will wait and see, pick one up to get a feel for size and see what the benefits are. As of now, I think having a new iPod touch, along with my iPad 3 will be a good match. Time will tell.

I'm planning to get the 4th gen iPad in spring, so having a cheaper smaller one to tide me over til then is brilliant.

2 people in the house, 1 iPad.... always someone wanting to use it when the other has it. $500 to fix... hmmm maybe but na

$200 or $250 to fix probably worthwhile, and it's a new gadget.. and I'm an admitted gadget whore lol so ya, probably buy one.

if a person does not have a 'mothership' computer at home (macbook pro, iMac) and only uses an iPad, then the Mini would be useful for these types of consumer.

I use my iPhone when out and about now, not the iPad, so it wouldn't be of use to me.

The Mini will be perfect for people who do traveling and have not yet purchased an iPad.

Probably for a gift @ £400 a throw in the UK having the latest iPad each is a bit extravagant, if they were £200 each though...

One for me and the wife :)
