Try Better Touch Tool.
I have already installed it but couldn't figure out how to reprogram keys. Went back again after reading your post and saw the "Other Mouse" button.
Success !:)
Thx.

Whether a Logitech mouse says "Mac" on the box means NOTHING.

I bought a Logitech MX-610 some years' back that was supposedly "Windows-only", and it's been one of the best -Mac- mice that I've ever used.

Some of the buttons (volume up, volume down, mute) worked without ANY "Mac software" at all.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST that you download and try one of the following pieces of shareware:
1. "USB Overdrive"
or
2. "SteerMouse"

.... before you give up on the Logitech mouse.

You may be very pleasantly surprised!

Aside:
I think the Logitech Mac mouse software is overly-bloated, and don't use it with my other Logitech mouse, which -is- supported on the Mac side of things...

Apple probably couldn't have designed a less ergonomic mouse if they tried. It is good for 5-10 minutes. It is a mouse meant for a library besides that it would be stolen.

For anymore than an hour that mouse is a nightmare. Just really, really bad as far as comfort is concerned.

Good functionality though, too bad it isn't in another body.

Oh now, you don't remember the heady days of the puck? They actually put that thing in the box with their high end tower for a year or so. That was a world class POS ;)

Kensington Trackball since 96. Me and 8-10 others I know ;)
Mac mice stay in the box untouched.

I also use the Kensington Trackball, as long as you have. I did like the bearings on the old serial Trackball, they were smoother then the new USB style. However the ruby balls seem to require less cleaning.

What do you use for cleaning your Trackball?

Wireless mice suffer the same tech failure as the electric car, short on endurance, & staying power.

I use a Magic Mouse primarily, but I also have a Logitech G700s.

Compressed air and a little glass plus, but only every 2-3 months or so. They still collect dust, etc around the plastic holds. Agree, the ADB bearing models were good, but the current 64325 model feels best here.

I use all Logitech products with the Unifying Receiver(s). Mostly the m310 and m510 mice with the Comfort Keyboard and Solar keyboard. Great to keep one usb dongle plugged in and pair w/ 6 different devices.

I bought a Magic mouse, and kept it and used it faithfully for 13 days. On the 13th day, it went back to Apple store, as I just couldn't warm up to it.

I have the USB "Mighty Mouse"(now sold as just the Apple Mouse) on my G4 and G5 towers, and like this mouse really well. IMO, it's one of Apple's best designs.

When I use a mouse with my laptop, I either grab the Mighty Mouse off one of the desktops, or just use any generic 3-button optical USB PC mouse. I prefer the trackpad on my laptop for most uses, but when I need/would prefer a mouse I've yet to find a USB mouse that didn't work perfectly as a plug and play item in OS X.

As I mentioned, I really like the Mighty Mouse design, but like many Apple wired mice the cord is way too short on it for my taste. I know that the idea is that it will be plugged into the USB ports on an Apple keyboard, but at least some Apple keyboards have the USB ports on the back and the cord is way too short for this.

On the other hand, most PC mice I've used have too much cord.

The 64325 is the one I have. I am using isopropyl for the 64325 as a cleaner myself, wet a rag and wipe it down. Like the trackball for the footprint and it protects the desk top.

For me the wireless mice or keyboards are not worth the trouble, some devices just need to be hardwired.

Steel series Diablo 3 mouse. And a razer mechanical keyboard.

At home I'm using a Logitech optical wireless mouse from about 15 years ago on my PC, but its the best mouse I own.

Logitech G400s Optical Gaming Mouse. Love every single inch of it.

I know I posted above about being a Logitech loyalist, but picked up a Microsoft Arc Surface Touch edition Bluetooth mouse and it's fantastic. Auto recognized by OSX, ergonomics are slightly didferent
