I would imagine it would have been heavier than apple would like if they had used the space for battery so they decided to put better speakers in instead.

Of course this is the only headline MR could have chosen.

Stupid Apple putting decent speakers in this device. Because no one will be using it to consume audio or video and if they do they'd surely be using headphones or Bluetooth speakers. And using that space for bigger batteries wouldn't make the device heavier and more uncomfortable to hold for longer periods of time. /s

Yeah.... That headline is chum in the water. Expecting at least 300 posts on this story, maybe more.

The speakers can be amazing as possible, but until front-facing speakers are a thing, I will still forever regret spending time around my hard-of-hearing grandparents when they're using their iPad.

It will be interesting to see the ifixit youtube video on this, I wonder how similar the repair score will be to the other iDevices.

I can see Jonny Ive right now, "We made it as thin as possible to the point that it couldn't be any thinner. We sacrificed hours of battery life to make the device thinner. Then rather than fill up the empty space inside with batteries, we filled it up with speakers. Users will have a razor thin iPad Pro with concert-like speakers and 32 minutes of battery life"

Brilliant!!!

iPad Pro's High-Quality Speakers Turn a Deaf Ear to Needs of Apple Zealots: Huge Weight Savings Due to Not Doubling the Battery Size May Spell Frustration for Many Seeking to Grow Popeye Arms

Sign me up for all the iPhone battery rants. The iPad? Hmm... battery life is pretty awesome there, no complaints, so when the device gets much bigger and you add good speakers and battery life still is great, I'm all for it!

It's a weight issue. Try holding a Surface Pro for three hours. Your hands and arms will get tired.
And according to iFixit this device has a 38.8 Wh battery compared to the 38.2 Wh battery in the Surface Pro 4. But I'm sure Marco Arment will find a way to ding Apple for for this.

How much % CPU takes space? Screen? Etc...

I think we Apple should remove all components except battery... and make it 100% inside battery.
What do you mean "inside"? Are you implying the batteries should be inside a case? What a waste of space. Just carry the batteries without a case. Remember to keep your pocket knife in another compartment, of course.
