Here's what John Gruber said in his review:

http://daringfireball.net/2015/11/the_ipad_pro
BATTERY LIFE: Simply outstanding. I didn’t even plug it in once between Monday and Friday, and it still had plenty of charge left. I’ve been using it for eight continuous hours as I type this sentence, and it still has more than 50 percent of a charge remaining.

Of course this is the only headline MR could have chosen.

Stupid Apple putting decent speakers in this device. Because no one will be using it to consume audio or video and if they do they'd surely be using headphones or Bluetooth speakers. And using that space for bigger batteries wouldn't make the device heavier and more uncomfortable to hold for longer periods of time. /s

It's sad they couldn't have chosen a headline you would have approved of.

No it's a ridiculous clit bait headline. And I'm obviously not the only one who thinks so. I'd expect something like this from Business Insider or BGR not MacRumors.
I know right, it could affect the share price. I wouldn't worry too much it'll only be a minute amount.

For every one of you, there' s another that takes the opposite stance. Apple has obviously settled on 10hrs being the goal for battery life when it comes to iPads. At least for now.
Good point. My iPad at the moment has a pretty good battery life which I’m happy with. I wouldn’t use the speakers much so a bigger battery would be of more use, but thats just me :)

Let's keep in mind that battery is heavy. I don't think the average user wants a device like this to be much heavier than it currently is, even if you have the space. In a perfect world you would have more options (heavy duty model with more battery, thicker version with bigger heat sink, etc), but that's not how it works.

It looks to be a great product. The fruit is dangling over my head so to speak. Do I need an iPad Pro? Hell, No! Is it overpriced? Hell, Yes! Do I want one? Hell, Yes! That sums it up for me.:)

iFixit is in the process of tearing down the iPad Pro, providing a closer look at how Apple organized the internals of the larger iPad. While the majority of the internal layout is similar to the iPad Air 2, there are some significant differences, including the inclusion of a brand new four-speaker audio setup.

ipadprospeaker.jpg

Each corner of the iPad Pro has a speaker driver sitting next to a capped resonance chamber. Each speaker is designed identically, as the iPad Pro shifts the speaker's function depending on the orientation of the device. The two speakers on top provide higher frequencies while the bottom speakers provide lower frequencies.

Once it removed the speaker drivers, iFixit uncapped the volume chambers, which Apple says gives the iPad Pro's speakers 61 percent more "back volume" than previous iPads. Underneath the carbon fiber caps are enclosures filled with foam, which are used to amplify the speaker's sound. However, iFixit notes that the speakers take up space that could have been used to increase battery capacity by 50 percent. Previous iPads, due to the lack of premium speakers, were able to dedicate more space to battery capacity.

One of the first changes the team at iFixit noticed was that the logic board has moved to the center of the device, unlike previous iPads where it was off to the side. Additionally, the logic board's shielding had to be removed before iFixit was able to remove the logic board itself, unlike previous iPads.

The teardown also found that the iPad Pro uses the DP695 Timing Controller, which may be an iteration of the DP665 LCD timing controller found in the 5K Retina iMac. However, as noted by iFixit, the iPad Pro's timing controller is likely modified to better use the display's refresh rate. Also, the teardown experts found that Apple has added adhesive pull tabs under the iPad's batteries, making them easier to remove.

Finally, iFixit's teardown offers physical confirmation that the iPad Pro includes 4 GB of RAM, which was confirmed by Apple's own Xcode tools in mid-September.

iFixit's teardown is ongoing, and this post will be updated if any other significant discoveries are made.

Update: iFixit has discovered that the iPad Pro has a 10307 mAh battery.

Update 2: iFixit has given the iPad Pro a repairability score of 3 out of 10, noting that the Smart Connector is unlikely to fail given its lack of moving parts and despite it being "virtually impossible to replace." The main issue is that the iPad Pro uses a lot of adhesive to hold everything together, making things difficult to replace.

Cause having twice as big of a battery wouldn't be any heavier, right. Oh, and it still pulls 10 hours of battery with half the battery it could hold.

Proof that MacRumors is an Apple-hate blog. This headline is conclusive. Seriously messed up

Who needs battery? We need thinner!!!
Like the iPad battery life was poor ....

So you'd rather need 50% battery and no speakers? Duh!
Yes , so they could complain about weight and poor speakers...

Id rather a bigger battery than better speakers to be honest.. The only sounds my iPad air makes out loud at the moment is notifications.. if I even have it off silent. Everything else goes through my Beats Studios or EarPods.
They can't please everyone. A bigger battery for what purpose? Are you going to use it for more than 10 hours in a row ?
I'd say get a life... /s

Of course this is the only headline MR could have chosen.

Still have to read a review complaining about poor battery life....
But a click bait is a click bait.

For every one of you, there' s another that takes the opposite stance. Apple has obviously settled on 10hrs being the goal for battery life when it comes to iPads. At least for now.
I can't remember the last time I needed more battery life from my iPad.
Oops, now I can remember: never !

Here come the complaints that Apple could have given us better battery life and they screwed us.

What else will MacRumors users find to complain about here.
Too much screen estate ?

I wonder how much battery capacity Apple wasted because we got FaceTime and iSight cameras
And volume buttons
Not to speak about all of that glass !
It's sad they couldn't have chosen a headline you would have approved of.
... while I'm quite sure you appreciated that headline, right ?

Yeah, Apple. Lose the speakers and get more battery. I want my iPad to weigh as much as two iPad Airs. The market for tablets that need warnings about falling on small children is so neglected these days.

I thought quad sound systems went out in the 80's. The extra battery can't be any heavier than a laptop scenario. Two speakers should be enough. Now I'm going to go shave with my 9 blade razor.
It's not quad sound. It's more stereo sound that adjusts depending on the orientation that you're holding the iPad in. How that works out in practice we'll have to wait and see.
Hmm, I just remembered the "Quadrophenia" album. That never really took off either. ;)

It's not like the Pro has a 5 hour battery life. 10 hours is plenty plus those stereo speakers are worth having instead of extra battery and weight. It's all part of a balanced plan.

I could not care less about having 4 speakers in an iPad. I'd rather use headphones anytime I actually care about sound quality when using my iPad.

I think iPad pro will be the real Apple TV for a lot of people. Nice screen and sound to watch YouTube etc right?

There seems to be quite a bit of wasted space outside of any speakers or other components! Certainly enough to give us enough extra battery to power a third cpu core...

Oh well, I guess that will be next years big innovation, along with force touch.

The headline is WRONG! If they could have increased the battery by 50% compared to what it actually is, it means that they eliminated 33% of the potential battery space for the speakers!

So they expect people to use a 2 ft long 10 W charger to juice this beast? That's hilarious.
