It took a while to burn the show to DVD, but I finally got it to work:powermac666 said:iGary, I got it on tape, but sounds like clayj got a nicer copy via Tivo. I'll hold on to the VHS until you let me know you've got it, just in case.
btw, I was expecting fire and brimstone. Were you exaggerating, or did they do you a friendly edit job?![]()
1. Sony's Click to DVD software didn't like that I had recorded the show in Windows XP MCE 2005, which apparently slaps copyright protection on everything to try to stop you from burning it to DVD. (This wasn't an issue in MCE 2004, which is what I was using the last time I burned a DVD: myself on the 6 o'clock news a year ago talking about the Carolina Panthers being back for another season. Especially funny because I used the word "hierarchy" and they actually broadcast it.)
2. Then, I tried using MCE's native DVD burning capability. This worked, but it put the big MPEG file on the DVD as if it were a data DVD; it couldn't be played in a standard DVD player, nor on a Mac.
3. Finally, I used Roxio Easy Media Creator. THAT worked.
So it took 2 DVDs to figure this out; one that failed and one that plays fine in a DVD player. I'll send it to Gary as soon as I get a chance to go to the Post Office.
