wow iGary....you sure handled that really well!

we get the same over here with easyjet and ryanair unfortunately. i am currently studying these sorts of airlines for my degree, and have frequently discovered that in the travel business, when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys...or is that windows users?:D

that's low cost for you...it will get ya there, but only just! this sort of thing seems to happen on the train, eg, a southwest trains service from london would stop 50 miles form its destination (portsmouth) and a replacement bus service would operate from there....the driver didnt tell us where we were going, where we would be stopping, or how long it would take to get there...he even left one passenger behind when they went for a toilet break at one stop!

however infuriating, it is, in this day and age, important to keep your cool. well done!

oh and thanks to everyone hosting these videos.

amusing!! I think you handled yourself very well in that given situation. Two thumbs up!!

Why the **** would anyone want an aerial shot of Providence?
Personally, I think the best view of the city is from I-195 West, coming into the city, just as you cross the river.

That's where we left the helicopter from the last shot - we were doing Cape Cod and Buzzard's Bay.

You know, I have to say, seeing yourself in a picture is one thing (weird); hearing your own recorded voice is another (weirder), but seeing them both at the same time is another.

Honestly, I smile more than I thought I do.

Thanks to everyone - from the folks who ripped DVD's for me, to Dejo for putting this up so I can save it (When it comes to anything video I have no clue - that includes ripping DVD's).

:D

It's always nice to see someone you see on Macrumors on TV especially the iCon that is iGary.

You were surprrisingly eloquent and didn't come off as livid as you made us think.

Maybe your self image of you being mad isn't as bad as you think?

Heyyy... good looking. :D
Makes our potential April meetup intriguing indeed. ;)

First time I even looked at this thread and checked out the links.

I'm not completely sussed on American accents but that's not a Maryland/Eastern accent is it?

That was fun! Really strange to put the face (and voice, etc!) to the name. You seemed more restrained than I thought, but then as you say, the did edit it. :p

The other thing that struck me (apart from the hideous lack of organisation) was who the hell thought it was a good idea to have a beige plane?!

Yep. It's more of a local Baltimore accent, actually, with a little Eastern Shore mixed in. This area is particularly interesting as far as accents go. :)

Good looking? Don't think so.

It's meant to match the Southwest U.S. colors, supposedly. That said, they are painting all their planes blue and red now.

I hate that airline.

Yeah, the blue one looked a lot better. I liked your phone call - "I hate this airline". :D

I think I have told the story before, but since I am really putting off starting my writing for today, I'll tell it again.

Mt dad and I used to get into fierce arguments about Southwest because I would normally refuse to fly them because of their cattle-hearding seating techniques. His viewpoint was that I was a spoiled brat and was "too good" to fly Southwest.

We patched things up nicely over the past few years and basically agreed that my airline choice had nothing to do with being spoiled (I often get better deals on other airlines with better service and assigned seating).

Sadly, dad passed away in August (in excellent health, no less), but two weeks after he died, they finally aired the episode. I rather thought he'd have liked to seen that, but he is probably giggling - wherever he is. :D

I'm sure he is. :) Did he know you were going to be on it? Even just knowing you were going to be on TV, shouting at an airline (but not just any airline - Southwest!) would surely have amused him.

Yeah - he knew. ;)

Funny thing is, that piece was shot two years ago now.

January 04.

It must be kind of strange seeing yourself on TV from two years ago, like looking back on yourself in time. <cue spooky music :p >

You made it to Oz!

Hey iGary! You were on Channel 7 down here in Sydney last night. Looks like they're getting their money's worth from that episode!

[EDIT] Yeah, okay, now I've read further down and seen the seperate thread...

Ha, I was wondering what on earth could have happend to justify resurrecting this thread... iGary in Oz... pretty impressive!

I don't seem to have that coming on A&E here in Orange County, but I could record and burn to DVD if I did.
