Its so gorgeous! if only Apple could see these and move away from the "White plastic" effect of some of the lower end of the market products. I'd love to see the "headless imac" match with my Powerbook!

While I agree that the pics and vid are fake and that was a good catch, Apple did have the Apple logo upside down on the backs of open Powerbooks for several years. :p

but when they were closed, they looked good.. maybe they didn't want people overusing thier portables.. i do and my pbg4 still works fine.. course, just about everything possible went wrong with my old ibook.. it was eventually replaced by apple's lemon policy.. i basically lived by the genius bar..

I just got confirmation that today apple paid for the rights to ihome.com domain. Actual transfer of domain does not take place until macworld starts

Bawl-Sh*t.

The registrant for ihome.com is one iHome Inc, San Diego, and the AC is one Maria Knox, also in San Diego.

No apple affiliation smelled there.

iElevator

Dear All,

I have to agree with everyone who calls this a fake, there are just too many inconsistencies, but I'd bet that the elevator is real. It seems to be in all of these fake product shots, I think we should christen it the iElevator.

I'd buy one, beats climbing the stairs.

Best,

Chris @ Fallt

I just added 2 USB ports instead of the old ugly serial port, I added a VGA dongle like the PowerBooks and iBooks have, and I made it have 2 FireWire port, plug in some iPods for some extra music ;)...Oh Photoshop, how I love thee!! :)

Well... serial is useful for PVRs if you have certain cable or satellite boxes. I don't have those, though, so it's worthless to me, unless I want to console into the Replay, which I don't need to do to get fun stuff done (unlike Tivos :)). Also in reality, the existing USBs on the Replay 5xxx have no use, which does suck.

because it was a mock up

yeah that looks VERY similar to the iHome system

notice iHome and Mac Mini ...umm..different names + pics look totally different

looks like an early mock up of the packaging for the mac mini. maybe their graphics people don't work with the real stuff till its all been finally approved to be manufactured. the height seems the same though, even though the real deal is half that size....or its a future item...

Please people!

This looks nothing like the real deal: Mini Mac

And it is not a mockup!

It's a cardboard box with paper pasted onto it!

A joke! A spoof! A fake!

That's feels better.

Thank you!!! Oh, and you forgot, it's not a future product either.

fake

all in all, apple would have made their case much delicate than what pictures have shown...FAKE !

not real

I'm pretty sure those are fake, guys. I saw the new mac. It didn't look like that.

wow, this warrants so much less and less serious discussion than it got! For inistance, did anybody notice the arrangment of the ports is exactly the same as on an ibook? hmm....

I do have to say, though, the elevator thing... I'd think that would be where a shot of a product somebody goot a hold of would have to be taken, given that 1. it's not public, and 2. many states (such as this one) have laws against video cameras in places in which you assume you are alone... meaning it's illegal to have security cameras in bathrooms, store dressing rooms, and... elevators.

iHome gag

Seems like a school project to me. the iHome font isn't even rendered correctly with a Myriad Pro Medium font. The Foam isn't even the perfect fit for the system. Mac would never make a computer that shape. They would bust something more chic. It's pretty funny though.
