I have their Vindstyrka model. Apparently the Alpstuga will be more accurate for particulate detection; mine is +-10%, but it's good enough for eyeballing because the on-screen display just rates it 1.0-5.0, with 1.x being best. To actually read the measurement I'd need a hub and their app. This model uses Zigbee, but the Alpstuga will add Thread support to that.I’m interested in their air quality monitor
I looked around and got the current model because it was about half the price of the budget Aqara model at the time; you may want to compare with Aqara's lineup when Ikea finally releases the update to see how they compare. If you don't need Thread, though, the current model may get a nice discount before it disappears.
One more thing: Ikea touts the ability to connect the air quality sensor to their Starkvind air purifier to automatically activate, but those are for small rooms (215 sq. feet?). When I was in Ikea last week I didn't even see replacement filters on display by the air purifiers, either, though they look available on the website. So don't be enticed by that.
