I think it's to hide any lifting you might notice with the curved edges.

I remember reading that most SP manufacturers opted not to make edge to edge because the curve would eventually cause the protector to come loose.

Coloring the borders would hide you from seeing that.

totally understand that. but at what cost? At the cost of aesthetics? Its way too apparent, and just unflattering in terms of being a screen protector.

I want a screen protector that doesn't remind me "HEY I AM HERE PROTECTING THE SCREEN, SEE?!"

I guess if the borders weren't just sticking up. Again, this is all my opinion. For what its worth, its not too shabby -- I like the idea, but just don't like the borders shown here.

Iloome iPhone 6 Black Review

Just got it in the mail this AM.
Here it is in the box.

Installing was easy to a point. I think that whatever they have on the rim of this thing is very sensitive to position or tolerances are not what they ought to be. I got a 1 1/2" x 1/4" separation that could not be rubbed out with the provided squeegee. After I pulled the protective layer off I rubbed almost all of it out for this pic. After the pics I rubbed a bit more and it stayed down. Here is where its just a tiny separation.

Here are a bunch of views of the cover. A couple of notes. One or two views make it look like there is an orange peel effect going on but that is really just a reflection of my surfaced ceiling. The surface is very flat and smooth as you would expect glass to be. Another note is that I took this with a macro lens and there seems to be dust everywhere..... but my house is actually very clean..

What do I think about it?

Pros-

I think it has the best fit of any of the screen protectors I have tried so far.

It feels great.

It looks WAY better than the white iLoome pics that have been posted.

Some of the other posts make this look like its really thick. At least in Black that does not stand out to me.

Cons-

That bubble was way to hard to get rid of. But I did get rid of it (not a dust problem either)

You can still see some sort of separation along the black border between the black and the clear screen. This, I think, is a tiny air separation due to imperfect contact with whatever they use on the edges. OR its a bond line of whatever they use of for the cured edge. In either case its not perfect but the good news is, to me, its not too noticeable.

So..... it is not perfect. But its pretty good. I am keeping it till something better comes along :)

I've kind of been considering going with the black. I have the Zagg Glass now. It still looks like it's obvious there's a screen protector though, like there's a line between the black border and the clear part. The only appeal of having edge to edge to me is to make it look as though there's no protector and this doesn't seem to accomplish that.

I ordered the white and just cancelled. Not really liking the look of the edge.

Bob Keenan,

Just want to say great job with the photography. Not loving the black protector but your macro skills and presentation are excellent.

If you are talking about the glass it a very smooth. Finger glides accross it easily.

What about when your finger reaches the silicone edge, is it rubberised, is it smooth? I use notification centre a lot and so it needs to glide for me to be happy!

Also how do the edges feel around the home button cutout, are they sharp, distracting?

This reminds me of my Moto X, I never really liked the way they did the edges of the screen (there's no protector, it's just like that naturally)

All the edges are smooth and glass like. No rubbery feel. There is an edge but you can tell they put a small radius on it so its not sharp.

As to the home button you can feel the added edge. it is radiused like the other edge. i do not find it distracting

Fantastic! Pretty sure I will get one then! I have a black phone, and a black case (that doesn't touch the screen). I'm probably going for the black iloome, but...

What do people think of a white protector on a black phone?

oh NO.... just NO! NO NO NO NO NO!

i'm not putting something that looks like THAT on my phone!

NOOOOOOOO

(i have that exact pink apple wallpaper for my lock screen! your gf has good taste..... in wallpapers! ;))

I am waiting for the 6 Plus cover. Decision, decisions.

I may cancel. Not sure if I like this.

What I would love to have is an impact protective coating/film that covered most of the screen....

Glass feels great, but what happens when it cracks, etc? You have to get a new one.

Pro:
Your camera and photos.

Con:
That screen protector

If anyone has a Spigen neo hybrid, I'd love to hear how this works for it.

----------

That is not orange peel, its a reflection of my ceiling. the surface is flat polished glass.

The iLoome screen protector that is.

So what your saying is...your ceiling has orange peel going on. You might want to get that looked into. jk

is the orange peel a reflection of your ceiling? I don't see it on the other pics.

Are you happy with it?

I actually think it looks pretty good. At least it provides protection edge to edge. Ordering the onyx black version. Can anyone confirm it'll work with the Spigen neo hybrid metal?

Not bad
What kind of case it that?
Also looks like you have a bubble to the left of the home button
