If my son dropped an iPhone more than 100 times I wouldn't be buying him anything else.

hahaha Seriously. I mean I've dropped my Chocolate dozens of times but you can't compare the two phones, mine is made of plastic, very hard plastic. The worse that can happen is I get small scratches. If I had an iPhone I would make absolutely sure not to drop it!

Dropped my iPhone down two flights of concrete stairs and not even a scratch....... except for the massive crack all the way down my screen! Sucks!
The phone still worked but the scratch was getting worse and worse so i found a spare screen online (for £100GBP) and had a go at replacing it myself....... big mistake, it is now sitting on my desk in lots of little baggies :(

Yeah Im pissed also. I just bought a new car drove off the lot and ran into the back of someone while they were stopped at a red light... Oh no thats not why I am mad... I brought the car back to the dealership and believe it or not they would not give me another one just like it for free... even worse they wanted to charge me to fix the front end of my car... Im so pissed... Ill never buy another car from these guys...

Personally, If i were you, I would be pissed that my flesh and blood [...] could not keep and $400 chunk of metal and glass in his hands.

And you to buy him another one, I'd make him pay for the next one.

Oh, don't even get me started. The other day, I bought a candy bar, and put it on the vent of the heater....:D

Woah there. While I agree that Cybergypsy's kid *may* indeed be spoiled, don't you think you're being a little harsh? Wishing bodily harm to the lad isn't going to fix the problem.
Not spoiled at all serviced in the air force 3 years never had a issues with him but he lives by his phone, his bday is next saturday, his dad is taking him on a 7 day cruise, and I bought him a iphone..big deal, his my son...period...

That is one of the best analogies I've read on here. :)

Cybergypsy you are crazy :) you buy your son everything, new cars all the time, and tons of other stuff. I wish that my parents were like that. :D

I see, it's all crystal clear now.

i think you had a faulty iphone. check out these vids:

the phones in these vids are tough. i will not be taking any risks with mine, but i would consider it a fault if it can't survive one small drop, after all it is a phone, it is gonna get dropped, do not accept responsibility, keep complaining till they give you one for free dude, they can afford it.

Bad analogy wise ass, because in order to purchase that nice new car you will need collision insurance (unless you are paying for it in full). I asked about insurance when purchasing the phone and it is not available.

Ignore all this, I got the phone replaced for free today. No questions asked. Glad I went back and tried again!!!!

They said "apple says if there is no visual impact on the outside of the phone, we replace it for free." Looks like I had a defective phone, because there was no impact on the outside!!!

Insurance is available. You just needed to go the appropriate route (homeowner/renter insurance add on, AmEx, etc.)

I honestly, would try selling it on ebay. Hopefully you can get back most of the money you lost to buy another phone...

Do you think they'd replace this? I dropped it on it's back to carpet 2 feet below and it appeared. No texture impact, it seems to be under the glass.
