I was skeptical but now I'm extremely impressed. My last charge I got 10 hours of usage (email, surfing, texting, streaming radio) and 21 hours of standby and I was still at 5%.
I sure am!
Yesterday I got 8 hours of screen on usage with 22 hours standby
Tips:
- turn off wifi/bluetooth when not using them
- turn off LTE if you don't live in an LTE area
- turn off parallax effect under "reduce motion"
- turn off background app refresh
- turn on auto brightness
- don't allow so many apps to use location services
- quit playing with it non-stop!![]()
One thing that has really helped me is letting the phone die out and then doing a complete charge, also some people feel after several charges the bat life improves? After letting the phone die and charging full for this morning I'm sitting at 65% after a full day if moderate use

I get the point people are making but some of you are just being ridiculous also.
This morning my iPhone dropped 18% in 35 minutes, sending 5 texts. That is not the battery life I was expecting from an iPhone. I'm connected to wifi, and I have 3 bars.
Great apple fan here BUT ....... It's just me or the need for switching off almost all of the new features of iOS 7 just to keep battery life decent is sad ???
I'm not satisfied with battery life of my iPhone 5 since iOS 7 installation, and I'm in love with this o.s.
I had to turn off:
Siri
Background app refresh
Most of location services
Dynamic wallpapers
iTunes automatic updates
Just to have the phone last all the work day.
I'm not very happy ....
I'm certain your 5s has something wrong with the battery. Have you tried calibrating it? If the battery life is still that horrible, you should take it back to your nearest Apple store... Since there is nothing too power-sipping about sending 5 texts and being connected to wifi. My 5s gives me about 1 day and 9 hours before it needs a charge. I turn on cellular data and wifi all day and do rather heavy texting.

It's generally been accepted that some iPhone 5S's are having battery issues, but we're still not sure whether it's a hardware problem
Generally accepted here by the .0001% of the iPhone users reporting in? (of which very few have problems according to these forums)
Not sure what's happening there.. Do you have a decent signal throughout the day? A bad signal is one of the worst culprits for battery drain.
I use a static wallpaper, I've turned on 'reduce motion' and I turn off WiFi/Bluetooth when I don't need it. I've turned off 'background app refresh' (this NAILs the battery), but I've only turned off location services for one or two apps. I've kept automatic updates on but only over WiFi, as I only have a 1GB data plan.
I have a year old i5 and battery life is great. 50-60% ish remaining when I leave work usually.
I travel a lot, so signal can be very different.
But my point is that my 7 months old iPhone 5 was clearly better with iOS 6, as far as battery life is concerned ...
