That is $200 less for the same capacity. Get both with 256 GB and it is still $200. Not really a good comparison to compare a 256 GB 8+ with a 64 GB X.I paid $849 for the 6S+ 64gb at release, the 8+ 64g is $799 so $50 less vs the X at $999

Wait a second, no more tab bars in Landscape mode?!

That's full screen on the X. It also has an option for black bars on each side if you don't want the notch to interfere.

I was replying to the poster who said they didn't know how much the lower 6S+ 64gb went for. Not comparing the 256gb
Looks like plus is better value than x...but if you're spec guy x burned ipad pro.If you compare here: https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/
The iPhone X has one hour less battery life for internet usage (12 hours) than the iPhone 8 Plus (13 hours). It has less battery life in other areas too.
I guess the X’s smaller size, bigger screen = less battery life.
So for me, it comes down to, do I want the optical image stabilization and slightly bigger aperture on the telephoto lens on the X (which means need less light required for portrait mode) and the OLED screen, or do I want all the new specs in the 8 Plus, with better battery life...

So...what is it that you're looking for?The problem is...that’s in geekbench scores. Won’t be very discernable in real world usage. And the test use the x, yes, but, it has the same A11 chip as the 8.
I was comparing the 6/7 to the 8, not the X as we know that's priced at a premium. The lower gb 8 is higher in price by $50 than the 6/7 was. But that's probably because the 8 has a higher gb as the base model than the 6/7. The higher gb 8 is actually the same price as the higher go 6/7 was, but you get double the storage on the 8.
They’re $50 more expensive than last years’s 7 price. The 7 was $650 at launch and 8 is $700.
I wish Apple was stable with storage rather than mixing it around every year. But didn't last year's phones start at only 32GB of storage?
This year they're 64GB

I wonder if this is to retain aspect ratio whilst viewing video with no black bars on top/bottom?This is a great point! When I received the Note 8, the screen was more narrow than the 6 plus.
why would you keep he X for the full 20 months? Why not upgrade next year?I'm in exactly the same boat. I have the regular 7 at the moment. I like both the 8 Plus and X. I want the X but the release date, along with doubts about Face ID, and no Touch ID, as well as the software looking unfinished in places, is making me think 8 Plus. Problem is, it's a HUGE phone. I reckon I'd have a hard time using it but idk as haven't tried. Sure I've used the 7 Plus briefly in store but hard to say how that'd translate into daily usage. The cameras and the OLED screen are the things making me think go for the X.
My question is: How much difference would there be between the 8 Plus f1.8, f2.8 cameras along with only the Wide Angle camera having OIS compared to the X f1.8, f2.4 with OIS on both cameras?
Its mainly down to camera for me I think, despite me wanting that OLED screen of the X.
Also, if I went 8 Plus, I'd get the 256gb on Upgrade Program and have the ability to get the 2nd gen X next year or whatever, or if I went X it'd be the 256gb Low Monthly Payments plan but keep it for the full 20 months.
Please can anyone help with this dilemma? Really stuck!
Well... they were "stable" with 16GB for so long.... and now they're finally giving a decent amount.![]()
You really think Apple will lower the future price of X (and future XI and XII with bezel-less screen) down to current 8/8+ price range? Did you see Apple lower the launch price of 6/6s/7 down to the launch price of 4/4s/5?My pocketbook made the decision easy: 8+ The iPhone X will be standard in two years... I can wait for the price to come down. Now getting up at 2:45 am EDT to order one that will be difficult...
