I have both the Mini 4 and the Pro but I find that I reach for the Mini and hardly ever use the Pro.
I can relate to this. Only had my 11” Pro for 24hrs & after using it, I am now more convinced than ever, that an 8” to 9” screen, in the form factor on the new Pro would be the perfect iPad for me. However, I am not giving up on the 11” Pro just yet & am trying my best to use it instead of my Mini4 where possible. Hopefully, over time, I will adjust/learn to love the 11” Pro, as I know that when I switched from an iPhone 5S to an iPhoneX, initially, I disliked the X (thought it was too large), but 12 months on, I love my iPhone X & would now find it difficult to go back to a smaller phone, so maybe something similar will happen with the iPad?
The whole ‘size’ thing is a strange one & I have kind of been here before, but the other way around. I had the original iPad at launch, followed by an iPad 4, then in 2013, I ordered an iPad Air & a Mini2 (at launch) & planned to use both. Initially, I did not like the Mini2 & thought that the display was too small, but within a couple of weeks, I found myself reaching for the Mini ALL the time (it was just so comfortable to use) & after a year or so, I ended up giving the Air to a family member. So I am now giving the larger iPad another try, partly because I am fed up of waiting for Apple to update the Mini, but also because my thinking is that, yes, I am compromising by going back to a device with a footprint very similar to the 9.7” iPad, but I am also gaining a very decent increase in screen real estate over the regular 9.7” (from 7.9” to 11” certainly feels significant). Definitley glad I did not opt for the new 12.9” Pro (for a mad moment, I was considering it!) - it really would have been too much for me to handle (quite literally!)
